Open Thread: Chacin vs Kazmir @ 7:15
The young lefty Kazmir takes the hill at the Trop tonite at 7:15 and tries to stop the bleeding. Lets hope the Devil Rays can do better than scoring their runs on a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly. Though, it seems Halladay had his stuff working.
I dont know a whole lot about Chacin, so to get a glimpse from the other teams dugout, I suggest you take a look at Batters Box, a long time Blue Jays blog.

I want to see how Kazmir is doing as far as keeping his pitch count down. If he starts to run up the pitches is it his fault for having poor control or are there a fair amount of fouls and close pitches that the Jays are laying off? Likewise, if he's economical is it a credit to him or is it because the Jays are hacking away?
The one obvious disadvantage of seeing a game in person is the inability to see at-bats in the same way, especially from the upper deck. I could tell well enough how Phelps looked yesterday because I could see his swings and reactions but I'm more interested in the details with Gonzalez. Is he just missing or swinging at completely empty sections of air? Does he look comfortable trying to put the bat on the ball or is he just reaching and hoping he hits it? Stuff like that which can only be seen from the dead-on view the TV gives you.
