New Blog: The Boxing Bulletin for Boxing Fans!

At the Twins Sunday March 26

Hammond Stadium: Not bad. Grilled brats. The good beer is tucked in the left field corner. No outfield seats. A huge net covers the seats behind home plate so no foul balls. Best seats for sun are first base side. Pretty expensive ($18 for reserved, $20 for box seats).

Fans: It was"Minnesota day." St. Olaf's baseball team was there. Sold out with very few Devil Rays fans in attendence.

Pitching: Hendrickson solid and slow through five, was hit pretty hard in the sixth. Orvella was the shakiest.

Errors: Lots, five between the two teams.

Present: Cantu hit the cover off the ball. Huff made a nice play at third with a few questionable throws. Nick Green threw one into the stands on a semi-tough play to short. Norton dug out a few at first and hit solid. Darnell McDonald was in left and hit well. Ordaz played center. Wigginton made a nice catch in right, then moved to first for the final three innings. Josh Paul dropped a popup but later delivered the game winning hit.

Absent: Everyone else.

X-Ray: Jason Tyner made an appearance in left and later got on base.

In the stands: Twins fans were not happy that their A team was beat by this crew of Rays. Heard several comments that the Rays were "the worst team in the league."

This week: At Mckechnie, Bradenton, on Tuesday (Fabulous park)
At Ed Smith, Sarasota, on Wednesday. (Coronas are
sold in deep right, by the fence).

Is he bucking to start the year in AAA?  Seems to have been shaky several times this spring.

I was at the game on Sunday as well. Hope you had a good time visiting Ft. Myers. The Rays fans were in the left field boxes. I had quite a few around me.
Hendrickson looked a little shakey, but adequate as a 3 - 4 starter. Orvella looked like he was lost. Hope he can turn it on this week before the season starts. Norton looked solid again. I really hope Maddon puts him on the team. I also think the Rays have a great number 2 catcher in J. Paul. He seems to do everything you would want in a no. 2 guy. Nice backup to T. Hall. Just a couple of quick observations from Sunday's game.
