Pedroza

Is the great catching experiment over? I've noticed that Pedroza has been DHing an awful lot as of late; he seemed to not hit when he was catching.
Last night, he broke loose with 3 HRs, and his OPS is now back up to .952
Anyone have an update as to whether we've seen the last of him as a catcher? If so, it's time to move him up and see what he can do in AA...

You're right

In that he hasn't been catching a lot this year, but I don't think that means they are giving up on him. I think they want to ease him into the position, while also finding some catching time for Christian Lopez.

I'm not sold on him as a prospect, but I'd imagine that he's working on the side daily as a catcher. As Pat said, they're easing him back into it. It's been 5 years since he last caught.

If it was over, he'd be in AA. So no, I don't think they've given up on him as a catcher at all.

Yup, in reading the recap of the last game, it seems as if though he's DHing because he hurt his left wrist in a collision at home plate a couple of weeks ago. So, he's likely just not physically able to catch right now.
I checked on Minor League Splits, and he's been mashing as a DH, was doing nothing as a catcher.
