Never Die Rays

If managment really wants to get rid of the Devil from the name, try that one. These boys are just clawing through every stinking game. Down a run in the ninth....you'd better stay tuned, because these guys don't give up.

One of the reason's Reyes and Salas are carry such a big loads, isn't just becuase of the rest of the faulty pen...but it's also a testament to how many games this team has been in.

Those few games where pitching gave up big first innings were such a killer, but even in those games, the Rays kept swinging like they were going to patch some runs together.

It easy to say, but boy, its tough for a team to not "just pack it in and try to get them tomorrow" when you have 162 games on the sked. Maybe it's the youth. But, Wiggy, Crawford, Baldelli...they all say otherwise with each clutch hit.

Regardless of the win-loss records or the lack of bullpen depth, the one thing we should all honor and respect about this club is that they don't pack it in when faced with diversity.

Re: Never Die Rays
Really beating Nathan twice and Street are testimants to that, it's hard enough to beat one of those guys during the season, but to beat them both, and Joe Nathan twice (who was perfect except for our first touching up) bodes well for the future.

Hey if nothing else perhaps Nathan signs here to get away from our lineup?

Re: Never Die Rays
Yea, and how about getting to BJ Ryan too? Bring on Rivera! Bring on Papelbon!

Re: Never Die Rays
I actually had forgotten about that.

Seems like the only reliever who has given us true problems is Pat Neshek.

Re: Never Die Rays
This team never dies and thats one of the reasons I love them. Last year I saw them beat Papelbon and the year before I saw them beat Rivera. You should never leave a game early with these guys because they keep on fighting. (I don't know how people could have left lasts night game during the extra innings)

Anyone know the reason for getting ride of "Devil" I like it.

Re: Never Die Rays
Religious reasons, that and superstitious abnormalities, supposedly when the DRO was getting feedback on the team from the fans, positive comments would be met with the team being called the 'Rays', negative with 'Devil Rays', take it for what you will I suppose.

A Tampa Bay Business Journal poll
Refuted that, as the most responses were to keep the team name the same. That's absurd anyways, there are several other sports teams that are named "Devil", the Sun Devils of Arizona State, the Green Devils of St. Pete High, the Devils of New Jersey. Our name has less to do with an actual Devil than any of those teams, changing the name is absurd.

I totally agree with you
It is a ridiculous to change the name, especially as you said there are plenty of teams that have the word "Devil" in it.

ALSO HELLO ITS THE NAME OF A FISH!
