Dreams do come true.

I can't remember exactly when it all came together but tonight is going to be a significant night in the future of the Rays.  Tonight is going to be the first of what should be years and years of the best OF in baseball.  Sure, its raw, and its not the best yet, but for a team going nowhere this year, its all about playing together and getting better.

CC, BJ and Delmon in the same OF....... What a sight its going to be.

Speed, power, defense and yet more speed as all 3 continue to get bigger, faster and stronger.

This is the future and as of tonight this is the present.

Will BJ play CF tonight?
I know there was some talk he'd play 2B for the first few games back, but I know he got a few reps there in Vero so hopefully we'll see our outfield back to 'normal'.

Re: Will BJ play CF tonight?
To be blunt...Blah blah blah Upton in CF.  He's far more valuable as a 2nd Baseman.  I hope his move is a temporary fix until Rocco is healthy or we find another alternative.  He should only be an outfielder by necessity.

Re: Dreams do come true.
Future will have to wait another day. And hearing the reports that BJ was timed at 5.0 getting down to first last night (when he was in 4.0-4.3 range earlier this year) doesn't sound encouraging that he will be back at even 80% if he's activated Friday. Shields doesn't have his best stuff tonight and we're down 5-2 in the 5th. Shields needs to be our stopper, not tonight apparently. Can't wait to see what our bullpen does later when James reaches Maddon's pitch count...

Re: Dreams do come true.
Did someone just say until "Rocco is healthy"?

Man that just made my week.  Funny stuff,

Anyway.....BJ will never be a good 2nd baseman and has shown signs that he could be a very good CF.  The rays have screwed around with this kid for far too long and even through it he was mashing for the 1st part of the year.

Put the damn gazelle in CF between 2 future super-stars, CC and young and let them play.

The only reason i ever want to see Rocco play in the field again is to showcase him as healthy to get more in a trade.

Re: Dreams do come true.
Man BJ had a great play tonight out in center that definately would have gone over the head of Young...I love how he glides to ball seemingly effortlessly.
