Pena Breaks Another Record
118 RBIs breaks Jorge Cantu's record of 117 set in 2005. Also hat tip to Jim Wisinski for pointing something out, Pena went to arbitration for a season in which he spent the entirety in the minors, meaning that Pena won't be a free agent at the end of next season, but rather at the end of the 2009 season.

Re: Pena Breaks Another Record
When there was a string here a month or so ago about extending Pena I said no because he'd still be under arb control after '08, and I believe in the recent discussion about Boras' media "negotiations" bobr here made the samepoint.
So who is it who thought he'd be a free agent after next season?

Really?
As for Jim, he used to write on here, back in the Naimolian days, they didn't have a competent GM you know, of course you tell that to the youngsters and they won't believe you.

I don't think that his season is so much a fluke
