Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Maddon also revealed Thursday's starting lineup, which will be, in batting order: Akinori Iwamura, B.J. Upton, Carlos Pena, Evan Longoria, Cliff Floyd, Carl Crawford, Dioner Navarro, Gabe Gross and Jason Bartlett. As of Wednesday afternoon, the only tweaking that may occur would be flip-flopping Floyd and Crawford.

complete postseason coverage

Past those starting nine, the six bench players figure to be utility players Willy Aybar and Ben Zobrist, outfielders Eric Hinske, Rocco Baldelli and Fernando Perez, and backup catcher Michel Hernandez.

seems right

Jaso is probably already better than Hernandez but neither will play anyway
Hinske sucks but what is the alternative?

Works for me. I would like to see what our pen will be. Price, Howell, Bradford, Balfour, Wheeler and…..Miller? is my guess

Oh boy this lineup looks solid

We haven’t seen all these guys together in a while and this mixes nice offensively and defensively. Our bench features good bats and good gloves. One question I have is when we play in Chicago are we going to go with a homer friendly lineup to play to the park or what?

Oh

ST. PETERSBURG- City council member Karl Nurse, whose district includes Tropicana Field, has made a bet with Alderman James Balcer of Chicago, whose district includes the White Sox’s stadium.

If the Tampa Bay Rays beat the White Sox Thursday, Balcer will send pies from Connie’s Pizza, a classic deep dish pizza place.

“On the odd chance that we lose,” wrote Nurse in an e-mail, he’ll send “citrus wines from Florida Orange Groves and Winery in South Pasadena!”

Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.

Cue politicians trying to get in on the spotlight of something they did not voice an opinion on once

How bout this bet: If we win the ALDS Nurse actually votes yes on our new stadium. BUILD THE BALLPARK

It's Price vs. Percival

Percival could be out of the mix

Could anyone in good conscience pick Percival over Price at this point?

by atlantaray on Oct 1, 2008 4:27 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

what the hell?

Maddon has done everything right so far, if he decides to go with Percival, that will a horrific choice.

Lets see

1) Price is awesome
2) Percival sucks and needs shots just to stand up
3) We only have TEN pitchers, we need a starter in the bullpen

I think he chooses Price but the thing that worries me is knowing how loyal Maddon is to Percy.

According to Rotoworld,

Percy doesn’t think he’ll make the cut.

Make him Bobby Rambo's right hand man down in the pen.

How are Percy's dance moves?

I’m guessing poor to non-existent. He’s got to be able to hang with Bobby if he wants to be his R.H.M.
