Maddon did very well

I guess you can argue for another arm or Dan Johnson over Hinske but I like this roster a lot

I know Hernandez is our only back-up but seriously?

What did Mike Difelice do to deserve the shaft? I know we need his spot on the 40. But, if Hernandez has to play… that might drive up my blood-alcohol level.

But, thinking about it for a second. I am sure there were some people asking “Who is Francisco Cabrera?” for the Braves in 1992.

What do you mean?

DiFelice is on the Mets. It would be tough to put him on our playoff roster. We had to DFA him midseason, and he asked to be released, so we did.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

I mean in retrospect, not a good move at this point in time.

In my personal opinion. Mike DiFelice would have been a better candidate to back up Navi then Hernandez. Hernandez is a guy who has what 5 major league at bats before this year? Yes, I realize that Difelice is on the Mets roster, presently. I just wished that we would have a better option then Hernandez. He is one guy when I looking at our 25 man playoff roster who I kind of cringe when seeing Hernandez’ name. So, again in retrospect I wished that we had Defelice instead of Hernandez.

I'm pretty sure Joe knows what he is doing

Hernandez would not have started over Jaso if he couldn’t cut the mustard.

I'd take Edwin over Hinske

But that’s about it.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

No chance of Jonny joining?

Man, If Boston comes to the Trop Gomes at least needs to be near the infiel in case somethin pops off!

by RaysWIN on Oct 1, 2008 7:53 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

please no

As much as I would love to see Johnny beat up those jackasses, I really don’t want suspensions ever, but especially in the playoffs.

by joeybw on Oct 1, 2008 8:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well that's good

Because I’m pretty sure that suspensions for playoff infractions are not served until the following regular season…which is why Roberto Alomar was able to spit in an umps face and continue playing

are non-playoff roster players allowed in the dugout?

Just wondering if Jonny Gomes will still be within striking distance if a brawl breaks out.

Whats up with Crawford voicing displeasure over batting 6th?

While Crawford voiced his displeasure with batting lower in the order, saying he felt like he had to “prove himself all over again”, Maddon felt the move was necessary, particularly for Thursday’s Game 1.

This is the same guy who bitches about playing CF

And almost always flat out refuses to. So I would of been shocked if he didn’t complain about being moved down. He was already complaining in case they decided not to carry him in the ALDS. I love CC, but he loves himself too much and always has.

by joeybw on Oct 1, 2008 9:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This is total crap. CC is turning out to not be a good clubhouse guy

They got here pretty much without him, he better have a good game tomorrow

I don't think that him saying this necessarily makes him a good or bad guy in the clubhouse

but it’s par for the course with CC if you’ve listened to him in the press over the years.

What a damn disgrace.

He’s been out for six weeks. What does he expect?!?!

like I posted in some other thread

We get home field against the Sox and they got some injury issues but I simply can not cheer for them.

CC + Jackson for Holiday?

Think the rockies would be interested?

It kind of bothers me when people base CC's future off of this year.

Lest we forget the improvement he has made over the last few years. All he needs to do is get on base 33% of the time for him to be useful. If we get that out of him we will not lose. I guess I can understand the yearlong of Craw hate based on what he has done, but in my opinion he has been banged up most of the season. I think we will see a man on fire for the playoffs and a much needed spark going forward. His glove alone is enough to make me extremely excited going forward.

i agree

Carl over Hinkse in LF in the playoffs is a plus for the glove alone. the last thing i would want to see is a sharp liner to left with a game on the line and the Hinkse dive coming into play.

Hey guys, where are all the DRaysBay gang that are going to the game gonna be for pregame?

I was thinking Fergs, but anywhere to celebrate with the guys I have been blogging with would be cool (parking lot pimpin?). Name the place and I’m there

by TheUltimateBucFan on Oct 1, 2008 11:59 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I'm just gonna be tailgating

In the big lot somewhere, reading probably. My family only got one ticket for this game, but 4 for tomorrow and I was the only one who could get off of work for it. So it’ll be me chillin there. I might head over to fergs, but I can’t be sure of anything. I’ve decided that there’s no way any draysbay people are gonna be able to find any other, it should happen, but I’m not holding my breath.

As a Twins fan...

I will be rooting hard for you guys to pound on Chicago like no one’s business. Nothing would make me happier then to see the Rays win the World Series and make ESPN and FOX Sports suck it for always picking the “large market teams.”

Other Twins fans are rooting for the Rays as well.

Go Rays!

i love Bradford over Percy

that was the only one i was worried about. and while part of me wants us to destroy Boston at the Trop, like someone said earlier, i cannot root for them… go Halos

No Gomes or Percival! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our roster just dropped 50% in ounces of grit and inches of 5 o’clock shadow…the true measure of a teams worth…im scared. hopefully balfour and sonny can grow those handlebar mustaches a little longer to make up the difference.

(is grit a volume based measurement?)

I'm laughing at the superior intellect.
