god red sox fans are chanting like they have a chance to come back and win or something
when you think .500 is the best a team can do and they are currently playing in the ALCS for a chance to advance to the WS, you have to stop and think that the future of that team is going to be amazing. GO TB RAYS!
i would go with shields
i dont care that he is on the road, kaz pitching anywhere scares the crap out of me

How about ending this series in 5 games?
I hope the next home game the Rays play is Game 1 of the World Series! I say we keep the foot on the gas pedal & knock these fuckers ( Red Sox ) out before they get any confidence or life.
so is this the recap post?

Do you possibly have a hi-res of this shot?
This will run in TBT* tomorrow if so.
To clarify
This is referring to the Stephen King shot.
Not exactly
It’s my dad’s paper, though. I guess they’ve already got the shot if you pulled it from The Heater, though. Ah well.
And so the press has infiltrated us after all.

Haha
I’ve been visiting the site regularly since this Spring, but I think you’ve gotten several mentions in TBT and/or The Times based on some nuggets I’ve passed along (Sternberg posting on this site being one I can recall off the top of my head).
Needless to say, with TBT’s business format, they are far from the newspaper status quo of being apprehensive about the existence of blogs.
I actually like reading the TBT quite a bit
It does in a pinch when I don’t have tampabay.com at hand.
Yes he does live in Sarasota.

He can live in Sarasota in the winter (which I think he does)
Trust me the lady who sits next to me at Rays games has tickets, yes this is all fact, Lightning, Rays, Yankees, Bucs and probably more.

I GOT KICKED OUT OF FENWAY PARK FOR RINGING MY COWBELL
That’s right. I got asked to leave, my ticket was taken from me. I was forced to the ground by the cops, and thrown onto the street.
I was not drunk! All for “more cowbell.”
Yes, Nearly arrested. For cowbell.
I had two tiny beers over seven innings. I was clearly not drunk and disorderly.
Also, I was being baited by sox fans. Of course, one of the fans who threatened my life because I used the cowbell did not get ejected.
Even though he was double my size.
I completely agree with you
But you brought a cowbell to Fenway, you had to know that wouldn’t end well.

looked like he was close
My favorite part though was Gammons, “You’ve been a Dev……..a Ray for 7 years now…”

no worries
Only a couple last night. The 18 pack I put down was even sweeter because my tab ended up $18. I love my bar.

The way it should play out, in my opinion.
Shields tomorrow. Let him go deep but be more than willing to use the BP to try to end it there. I would stay away from Price under almost all circumstances. Throw Kaz in game 6 if needed. Have Price ready for the quick hook on Kaz. He should now be fully rested and barring unforeseen circumstances the rest of the BP should be in pretty good shape following the lack of work the last couple of days. Our pen is poised to help out and out starters are fully rested. You don’t get any do-overs, and there’s no sense in stomping on their throat here.
in my opinion game 5 is going to come down to the pens
and well we have a much bigger advantage then them so i think that this series is going to end on thursday

like a ball point or a felt tip pen?
I really feel that the Rays are feeling it. The Rays know they let game 1 slip away, they can take game 5.

Not to say that it couldn't happen...
But those were completely different situations. The Sox aren’t as good as they were then and the Rays….well….are freakin awesome!
The Sox also had game 6 and 7 at home
The 2004 series is more worrisome since they won 6 and 7 at Yankee Stadium but there are very few similarities between the 04 Sox and 08 Sox. That team had heart – this team has shown little outside Youk and Pedroia.

This Boston team is only a shadow of the '04 and '07 teams.
It was pointed out last night that Manny and Mike Lowell had 18 RBI in the ALCS last year. They aren’t playing with the Red Sox this series. The pitching isn’t what it was last year either. The Rays aren’t the ‘04 Yankees or ’07 Indians. They have a different attitude, and Papa Joe will keep everyone calm and positive. I don’t see them choking.
This happened once
I saw my doctor, and she wouldn’t let me leave for three days.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
Shouldn't that be "pounds per square inch?"
because pounds per inch could be a rather nebulous definition of pressure
