Hey guys
Just dropping by to say congratulations on making the WS. I really don’t think the Sox will come back on this one. Rays played great, wonderful team, I just wish we could have had close games at Fenway. It was just not to be, and this is your year. Enjoy and kudos.

Boston gave us some very memorable moments this year.
Next year’s going to be more of the same. This rivalry is just getting started.

Hope so, man, sure hope so
Next season, we’ll get our revenge.
Even with the rivalry and all, I really want you guys to win the WS since it could not be us. Really good team to watch, and I’m very gay for Upton, Longoria and Sonny.
But next season we’ll be back. Just wait. :)

His brother plays for Zona
Who are basically a very ugly version of your team. Remember at the beginning of the season when there were talks about the D-Backs being the best team in the league, with all those crazy young players? Right now, I could not be less worried about Zona, and the Rays are killing the Sox.
The media is often wrong, but they picked the wrong team to hype earlier, and it’s not even funny.

Pitch him away from home. I think pitching with the lead from the beginning was great for his confidence, as was this start.

Sonny on the road because he’s a decent hitter
by staplemaniac on Oct 16, 2008 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Oh absolutely. That was never a question.
Barring his elbow popping, he was pitching in the WS. I’m just saying that he’s still not himself. Although this slurve is a nice adjustment and he’s making due with what he’s got. And honestly, what he’s got is still pretty good if he’s commanding it. Still has a plus fastball and a plus change. This slurve is a solid pitch. It is very effective against lefties and can be used against righties.

And if he had another bad start and the Rays still win the game, I’d be thinking we’re looking at Price.
by kericr on Oct 16, 2008 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well, it is, but it's very loopy. Not tight and sharp like his good slider. A slurve is a pitch in between a slider and curve (typically it's not a compliment of a pitch), but if you control it, it can be effective and he's doing that well.

I was going to say something about being careful with the celebration, since it ain’t over ‘til it’s over (I give you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_ALCS#Game_5)….but damn!
TB’s got this thing covered—now just brace yourselves for the onslaught of excuses SawxNation will throw out over the next year…

Thank you thank you to the Rays (and esp. Joe Maddon!) for doing what the Angels couldn’t find the bats to do…

RJ is off drafting his Rays to the WS post which will be in his eyes epic, but in reality it'll probably be something like:
OMG we won we won we won OMG we won we won we won OMG we won we won we won OMG we won we won we won OMG we won we won we won WS bitches!

The strike zone just got even wider.
Carlos and Victor Zambrano have exactly the same number of career postseason wins. Who would have thought?
