my own personal torture

So by some slight fate I was destined to live below a huge Red Sox fan. The floors in my apartment building are paper thin, so we can hear everything anybody does. He is an older guy, and always, always on the phone. I can hear him as if he was standing next to me.The loss last night was tough to take, but I wasn't really that down about it because I knew the series was going back to St. Pete....so I headed off to bed to forget about it. But oh no.....this guy is on the phone ALL FUCKING NIGHT talking to people about the greatest comeback in sports history. I had to re-live that fucking game over and over again all night long. I could not fall asleep, he would not let me. That is torture....although I think I read  on another post that one of the fans here lives across from Fenway? I think that pretty much takes the cake in torture. I can only imagine what a night that would have been.

But on the bright side, today is another day. I have said the same thing in other posts, but this Rays team has had to prove themselves are year long. This is no different. How many times have we heard "The Rays are over now, it's the Red Sox time." All year long we have heard this...so of course we will hear it the next 2 days. No surprise there. But this team has always come back, always gone out on top. More than anything I want to beat the Red Sox......I don't even want to think what it means, where it will take us afterward. Just beat the Red Sox. I want to beat the Red Sox in Game 6, and then tell them we want to play a Game 7, just so we can beat them again.

You should be happy that you lost then.

If the floors are really paper-thin, then (how I hate semi-homophones) he might have started chugging Sam Adams. Would you really want him to come crashing through your ceiling smelling intensely of alcohol?

Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.

Geez, you really wanted that win.

Maybe you could be at the airport when the Sox arrive and start throwing rolls of cash at them to bribe them. Or use that money to rent a new apartment.

Seriously? I’m one of the most stubbornly calm fans on OTM: http://www.overthemonster.com/2008/10/14/635125/do-not-panic

of course I wanted that win, who wouldn't?

and why are you pimping your blog to me?

but I am calm dude, very calm. I thought they Rays needed to win one game at Fenway, and they would have a really good chance to win it at home. Well, they won two, so I really am not worried. This team is not like the other teams the Red Socks have faced in the ALCS. Why? Because they really have no pressure on them at all. They have far exceeded anybody’s wildest dreams for them. That makes them very dangerous because there is no real choke for them. How can you choke when you have made it to the ALCS after pretty much never finishing above last place?

No, I don't get anything out of people reading that (besides not having to listen to people freaking out).

I hadn’t thought of it that way. Very interesting.

The Sox are done for, bro. No chance.

I suffer for baseball so damn much.
