The right-hander was 5-4 with a 3.43 ERA at the end of May but faded after that point, going 7-12 with a 5.41 ERA over his final 21 starts.

Vazquez’s last three outings were particularly bad. He lost all three while posting a 13.50 ERA, never lasting through the fifth.

Vazquez is 5-4 with a 4.36 ERA in 12 career starts versus Tampa Bay, and 1-2 with a 3.54 ERA in three starts this season. Crawford is 11-for-26 (.423) with three doubles and two triples against him, but Pena is 2-for-17 (.118) with 10 strikeouts.

There is a huge difference between a major league playoff pitcher and single, at best pitcher, for the Phillies or Pirates.

Maybe not in terms of overall talent, but in terms of their ability at the moment they take the ball. This dude is really really really fading.

Funny point.

My work says “anyone missing today from work without a doctor’s note shall be considered unexcused and could potentially lead to his or hers own termination from this company. It is not acceptable to miss work for a Tampa Bay Rays game.”

You know I missed about accumatively 10 days over the past three years to Rays games, and all the sudden they are in the playoffs and now people care. This is funny to me.

I like for the first time in my life

all I hear about on the news and radio is about the Rays. This is awesome! I mean in comparison to last year where the Rays were put to the back burner after July 15 because the Bucs were starting training camp.

This season has been great! I mean, really awesome.

now, just wait until winning baseball is in our culture.

A few times this year and a lot of times last year, I would hang out at the beach in the morning. Have lunch near downtown then go to the Trop. You can incorporate the two. If you have a boat, you dock it at the pier, walk to the trop. It’s a nice night. Hell, boating from Tampa to St.Pete SO MUCH quicker then 275.
