World Series Tickets For Sale or Purchase Thread

First off, Let's use this for the buying and selling of tickets to the first two games at the Trop to keep multiple posts from going up.  A few Recs would be nice to keep it up as I know a lot of people want tickets.

I was fortuneate enough to win the lottery and get some tickets.  I have OBSTRUCTED VIEW tickets to both games one and two up for sale.  I only want to go to one of the games and the first person to e-mail me with the game they want gets them.

Game 1: Section 315 Row LL Seats 21-24 For $1200

Game 2: Section 317 Row BB Seats 5-8 For $1200

I have these up on craigslist as well and I've already gotten a few calls offering $250 per ticket but I have to break even on my game trip (including souvieniers, beer, food, gas, ticketmaster fees, etc).  I'm willing to sell them in pairs as apposed to all four if I have two sets of people willing to buy for the same game, but as of right now I'd prefer to sell all four at once.  E-mail me at tadowsean@gmail.com or leave a post.  Who ever is first gets their choice.

Ticket availability

I wouldn’t be so quick as a buyer to pull the trigger on anything over twice face. Tickets to the ALCS games were readily available, yesterday well below face (I know the Bucs game played a big part) and around face the other day.

A whole lot of people seem to buy tickets to make a quick buck and there just aren’t as many people willing to drive to the trop and hang out without tickets.

I also agree

You couldn’t GIVE tickets away last night.

by matthan on Oct 20, 2008 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It'll be different

They are supposed to be clearing all ticket sellers off stadium property (including the designated boxes) and maybe even Ferg’s. I recommend outside of Ferg’s since that seems to be where a lot of people with extra tickets go to sell.

I would say be stubborn and know what you want. I’d imagine lower level tickets command a decent premium while some upperdeck tickets will probably go for around $150 per. That’s my guess.

Where did you hear this from?

Why would this be different then any other playoff series?

by kericr on Oct 20, 2008 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

left field by the foul pole (those bar style tables)

i think prior to the playoffs they didn’t sell those tickets and people could just hang out. however they started selling them and now it is just totally general admission with a ticket. good view especially if you get there early. if you get there late then it is a whole different story. also it isn’t a bad place to sneak in a friend or two if people want to meet up at the game with different tickets.

get real

dude if someone really offered you $250/ ticket for seats behind the catwalk and you didnt take him up on it you are an idiot. you cant see anything up there. quit scalping tickets on here.

For $1,200 I would rather have one of these and be able to get free tickets to whatever I want from there on out

I sold game 2 in about 30 minutes.

It was either I scalp one day or wasn’t able to go at all. I feel no remorse. The people that bought them thought they were a deal as well (admittedly I would not have). If I was trying to rip someone off I wouldn’t have posted OBSTRUCTED VIEW in caps to emphasize that they weren’t great seats. I’ve dropped too much cash the last three weeks on tickets and couldn’t afford to drop another $1200 without it hurting since my portfolio is dropping faster than Red Sox fans. Get over yourselves.

I'm glad you managed to sell your game 2 tickets

It’s funny, I don’t have a portfolio, yet I’m going to be on my way to my 6th playoff game coming Wednesday and I feel no need to try to rape anybody on this board over a pair of tickets.

If you had been paying any attention at all on this board, you should have known that you were going to catch flack for this. Nobody on here is going to feel any remorse for you bitching because you spent tons of money going to the Rays games when your stock portfolio collapsed like a house of cards. If anyone needs to get over themselves here, it’s you. Stop being a douche.

I, on the other hand, don't have a problem with someone selling their tickets...

for above face value. There is no law against it, and selling a a second set of tickets pays for your game experience then good for you. I will agree that it’s tacky to bring up your portfolio. Either have the nads to ask for that much money or don’t. Just don’t try and qualify it,

Boom. Outta Here.

You're actually agreeing with me

I don’t have a problem with him selling the tickets above face value. I’m disgusted with the gouging, but the elitist douchebaggery is what draws my ire the most.

I'm more of a free market capitalist...

I wasn’t disagreeing with you entirely. I just hate how a lot of people act like they are entitled to tickets. I’m sure the people who complain about someone scalping would have complained about the tickets costing $100.

Boom. Outta Here.

I don't have a problem with the small-time scalpers

The problem I have are the people with like 20 tix. I swear the scalpers have figured out a way to jame up the system.

Yeah...

I had 2 passwords today, and had 2 computers and multiple browsers going and got nothing.

I have no problem with someone selling for as much as they can get.

I’ve done it. But I would never bring it to this site.

I have tickets for Game 1

I won the lottery and lucked into a few tickets, but I screwed the pooch and got a singleton in the Press Level. I was simultaneously working a number of browsers and when the smoke cleared, I had 3 extra.

I want to sell these to Rays fans to (like Dubbs) partially subsidize my own tix. I have the eTickets and can email them to you immediately.

Game 1 – Section 215 (press level), Row G, Seat 1 – $400
Game 1 – Section 131, Row XX, Seats 8 & 9 – $275 each ($550 total)

Drop me a line at jnraha@yahoo.com.

Thanks.

I don't see anything saying this is against any rules...

… I have extras and there are fans out there looking to get into the Trop for a big game. Seems pretty innocent to me. Plus, I’m selling at a discount to what the major brokers (StubHub, TicketLiquidator) are selling.

I only have one ticket left.

Game 1 – Section 131, Row XX, Seat 9 – $250
(less than any price I can find online for the same section)

Drop me a line at jnraha@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

Ya goddam injins!

I don’t see anything horribly wrong with the the two posts above; just remember that you can still jump online tomorrow morning at 9AM sharp and try to get the late-release tickets.

Has anything official been mentioned about this? I’m kinda thinking there may not be any of these this time around…

by AussieGriff on Oct 21, 2008 4:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

They don't mention it unless there's a large enough quantity.

I got an e-mail for game 7 of the CS notifying me there were tickets available and I passed (I woke up at 10AM and figured they’d be gone by then). When I bought them for game 1 of the CS (because I missed out on my chance in the drawing), I didn’t get an e-mail; I found out here on the board.

Oh to be able to sleep until 10am! Kids got me up early enough to get my Game 7 tix after I checked my emails… (see they really ARE a blessing!)

FYI Real Rays Fans

Tickets were just released on ticketmaster for game 1. Good tickets are available. They did raise the fees to 10 bucks per ticket plus some other garbage.

Have 2 game 1 tickets Section 133, Row K (Aisle Seats)

And a Hotel room as the Tradewinds Island Grand. Will unload the entire package for $500. Great if you’re planning on coming in from out of town. Can also shuttle you to the game if need be.
