Evan Almighty vs. Bruce Almighty
http://www.redreporter.com/2008/10/22/640254/evan-almighty-vs-bruce-alm
hey guys i am also a fan of the reds, and redreporter is the red's sb nation blog site and they did a post about who would you rather have evan longoria or jay bruce. both are going to be MVP caliber players for many years to come, but who is going to be better? im am going with longo since i think that he has more power potential that jay bruce.
we all know how good evan longoria could be if he continues to get better and stays healthy, and jay bruce also has an extremely high ceiling.

I love Longo as much as the next guy
but from actually seeing Bruce play in person as well as online once he got called up (I saw Longo as well) I could count the position players on one hand I would choose over him if I could take anyone to build a team around factoring in age and potential. Jay Bruce has the ability to win multiple gold gloves, batting titles, go 20-20 if not 30-30. I know Longoria is capable of those as well and this could be an arguement of two of the best players in baseball over the next 10-15 years.
If they both played the same position it'd be a 50/50 split.
As it is, I’ll take a great 3B over a great OF any day.
This is the only reason I'd give the edge to Longo
He plays a more premium position. They are both studs.

Longo
but mostly because he’s already here and already has a favorable contract. In terms of pure ceiling and likelihood of reaching it, I think they’re on similar grounds, and I like Jay Bruce a lot.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
Longoria
Both will play in many All Star Games. However, I think Longo’s defense at 3B will only get better and I don’t think he will always be such a streaky player.
He just needs to learn to hit a breaking ball and lefties better.
Matt Garza is in the middle of having his 3rd testicle descend. He will be ready in time to win tonight though.
red reporter was the one who came up with it
the red sox had a 9 game elimination win streak, but matt garza was too busy rocking out to tupac to notice
FWIW
If you ran the same poll on the Reds site, I’d expect the results to be similarly lopsided going the other way. They’re both the kind of talent you don’t just trade away.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
actually more of them said that they would take longoria over bruce
they didnt do a poll so i decided to put one in
