That jam

Was the equivalent of a perfect squeeze. Unless the ball is clearly going foul, I don’t think you can let that one roll; imagine if the ball had stayed fair. Even though you can make the argument that he could have made a better throw, he had to go full throttle to even make it close, the field was probably slippery, and he had to get the ball around/over the guy running home. Very tough play to make.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver
