Tailgating around the Trop

First of all let me congratulate you guys on a hell of a season. Hope you guys beat the shit out of the Sox.

I'm flying into Tampa friday morning with a group of 6 rabid LSU fans. We'll be making the trip up the GVille to see the LSU/Florida game Saturday night in the swamp. We're flying out Monday, but plan on taking in the Bucs/Panthers game on sunday.

Friday afternoon we'll have a little free time and thought about checking out the scene around the Trop. Will there be anyone out there partying before the game? If so we'd love to stop by and show our support, and drink a few cold adult beverages before we drive up to GVille.

We're all 20-something professionals so we won't moach we'll be glad to pitch in or BYOB. We were just wondering if there will be anything worth checking out Friday afternoon around the Trop.

The tailgating has been pretty strong at the Trop

We tried to get something going here but ALDS ticket uncertainty + incompatible scheduling kinda blew it up in our faces (well, my face). I’m sure if you show up equipped with booze or food that they’ll be a group or two that’ll take you guys in.

That being said, I don’t know of anybody on here right now that’s tailgating for either game.

Hey Honkus,

You will have a blast at Fergs which is right across the street.

I imagine that it will get a bit out of hand as the night goes which might be right up your alley but if it gets too crowded just head a few blocks towards downtown which will be rocking.

Everlast is playing at Jannus Landing which is the best live music venue in Florida.

It is basically across the street from the Trop and the only sports bar even close. It is on central and 16th street. It is always slammed before and during games and will have a happy croud after the game as well. Also, it is close enough that you could go walk around the parking lots as well to see something different.

Ah, just stick around St. Pete and have fun there. Them corndog-smellin’ bayou bengals aren’t going to have too much fun in the Swamp come Saturday.

And, btw, let me extend a hearty f-you to CBS and TBS for conspiring to schedule the ALCS game 2 at the exact same time as only Gator home game I can make this season. Rage, anger, seething teeth-breathing, etc…
