Edwin on CS roster, Hinske possibly off
Perhaps we won't see either in the post-season?

So no Troy Percival?
I'm laughing at the superior intellect.

Must be that over 7 ERA at Fenway
that is going to convince maddon to give him (EJax) this spot. Maddon however has perfectly used his bullpen this post season even if that means Price has been sitting on his butt. Maybe the fact that Boston outscored us by like 10 runs has Maddon feeling like he may need one extra long man, or hopefully he realizes Price walks on water and he will pitch atleast 40 innings this series and let Ejax get ready for the NL next year.
IF only Harry Carey could be arounde for Kosuke.

Maddon commented that he wanted to long relievers
in case there were a couple of games that got out of hand in the series, one way or the other. He doesn’t want to use “the meat” of the bullpen for garbage time.

I like this move on seceral levels
1- E-Jax deserves a playoff spot
2- With Kaz and Garza you neever know when yuou need a long man
3- If Percy can’t close, i don’t see his value

If playoff spots were earned by being a nice person, then sure.
But he’s better than Percival, so fine.

Other roster moves...
I hope Riggans make the roster. Having him catch Garza, and getting a better performance out of Garza, could make a big difference in the series.

I was thinking the same thing
If the guy can go at all, its HUGE to add him, he makes Garza much better.

This is the right move. A guy who throws 98 with terrible command is much better than a guy who throws 92 with terrible command.

Awesome
Percival and Hinske are 2 players who proabably made me smash the most stuff. Although to be fair, Edwin was a close 3rd.
Now lets get to WS, replace Hernandez with Riggans and this will be perfect.

You all know now that for some reason, Edwin's going to have to start a game, then go out there and pitch a nine-inning, one-hit shutout where he strikes out 13 while throwing only 85 pitches
And we’re all going to be left amazed, eating our words, and questioning our sexuality, right?

If this exact thing happens
I will buy a Jason Bay Red Sox jersey because I will be in that good of a mood…..and its an empty promise.
I could see Edwin or Price taking Garza’s spot as Spitfire seems to need Riggans to be dominant.

actually on that subject
I think Sonny should get game 3 and Garza game 4 for a few reasons.
2 big ones
1) Garza hasn’t been effective in a while, Sonny is usually effective
2) Sonny has owned the Sox this season and would give us at least a fighting chance against Lester

I think Sonny is a guaranteed 6 IP 2 Rs
While a very good start, that may not beat Lester. It definitely beats Wakefield. Garza has just as good of a shot beating Lester, IMO. He could either out-duel anyone, or he could lose to anyone. Same w/ Kaz, which is why I like having one of them start against him in 3 and potentially 6 on short rest.
