Dioner Navarro: The worst baserunner in baseball
Rich Lederer takes a look at Bill James' baserunning section in the 2009 Bill James Handbook. Navarro rates as the worst. Pretty interesting write up, too.

I yelled very loud curse words at my television when Maddon gave him the green light to steal second base….

On young talent at the end of the article:
Bill believes Evan Longoria was the “only really huge talent to emerge,” claiming that he "probably would rank as the number one guy on our list, were it not for an injury, but the system relies on major league production.
I could be wrong though

James splits his baserunning ability into
baserunning and stolen bases. Is this just the one-side or both? I know last years book had Bartlett, Crawford, and Upton up there as far as baserunning, and I would like to see how they graded out again.
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found
a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up
that much.

Young catchers are still catchers
Don’t ask somebody who spends half the game crouching to do anything that involves speed.
