A cheaper alternative if all we want is some power. (Link is to his winter ball stats, which are meaningless)

I just compare any potential signee or trade target to Eric Hinske and I say “well he can’t be worse.”

Hilarious!

Just came here after looking at the same guy in Carib league. Thought, Rays righty RF / DH?

Great minds think alike? Of course he whiffs like a glue junkie, and is a butcher on D to my recollection. Hmmm… Hinske was what I thought too.

As a guy who watched the Mets

I remembered they referred to him as Little Manny Ramirez. Needless to say, that never happened.

He's still little Manny Ramirez

He plays no defense.
He’s all power.

Diaz has no power, and is the AAAA version of Manny. Which brings on the “little”.

All he has to be now is an asshole.

I know that's a pisser, baby.

Kala Kaaihue

I’ve read he was left unprotected any chance at taking a flier on him? The Devil Rays were selling those high picks for only 50k… Any chance this guy could produce enough to stay on the 25 man roster, regardless if we should use that spot on him or not.

IF only Harry Carey could be arounde for Kosuke.

I like that idea.

Kala is buried on the depth chart (behind Kotchman, Freeman, and Flowers) in terms of prospects/current guys, and the Braves can’t stash him at DH.

See what he can do.

I know that's a pisser, baby.

Would have to DH

Haven’t noticed you need a 1B next season. Thought you were looking for an everyday DH. Hard to imagine he’d produce enough for a contender at DH jumping from AA. The K rate is daunting, though a likely byproduct of his patience, and he seems to struggle with initial promotion, so what would a 2 level rise mean?

Not to say its a bad move, but makes much more sense for a lesser AL team that could platoon him at 1B. Maybe Tor, Sea, Tex.

After years of scouring the furthest depths of projectable players to fill out a roster, it’s a difficult rosterbation habit to break. After all, this is the same club that once carried three Rule 5 players all in the same (incredibly painful) season.

In Korean baseball league , 2 foreign player plays each team.

2007 season, Han Hwa Eagles played foreign players were Doug Clark , Brad Thomas.
