Does Eddie Guardado make sense?

PrintHe's not flashy, but he'd likely be cheap and better than he looks in front of the Rays defense. The Twins didn't give him any help in his brief time there last year, but his numbers suggest he can be effective with a good defense behind him. Bullpen depth is, IMO, top priority for the '09 club.
And, to complete the minimum word requirement: sign Brian Shouse to complete the submariner Wonder Twins. Form of...groundball!

it's a joke
Santana has 4 plus pitches three of witch are plus plus Jackson has a slider with mediocre movement and a fastball he cant locate, the AL pitcher thing was a joke about how little movement jackson has on most of what he throws. Santana=$140 mil pitcher jackson=4/5th starter on an NL team

What are the other options of value? He’s a stable guy in situations exactly like this. Good to eat up low leverage situations.
He's not very good.

Eddie Guardado is bad but he used to be good, so he'll cost money.
There are lots of better pitchers in AAA that don’t cost money.
