Are we done?

Picture_medium

I think we're done.  Obviously spring training is important to put the finishing touches (Gross/Perez, very back end of the pen).  All that can be in house.  And all the people that want the DH, I dont think theyll spend a ton on a player that doesn't field.  Aybar is a good sub when Rocco pulls up lame.

On to my starters predictions...some will say Im crazy, but people said I was crazy for placing that pennant bet when I did (to be fair, back then, i also thought Upton would be hitting .330 if we saw October)

For us to have that lineup

We’d still need to sign Baldelli, at the very least, and that doesn’t look all that likely.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

Baldelli shouldn't be back with the team.

He’s a liability. You don’t want liabilities on your roster. Period.

And no, we’re not done.

Plus

Those projections almost all look EXTREMELY optimistic to me. I’d be surprised if 1/3 of the guys hit at least each of those marks.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

I'm a fan..I can't help it.

2-21-08 $338 on the Rays to win the Pennant at 95:1 = $32,448. -bet placed by the new Matt Garza Fan Club Preisdent.

Wow

I see you think we are going to get many HRs.

Bartlett/Sonny/Garza

are the only ones I can say will probably produce to the level you have.

And no, we are not done

Shields prediction could be close.

The rest is just whack.

Mariners ----> Brewers.

Obviously pretty optimistic all around. You have Kazmir pinned for a Cy Young season.

The Longo one though, the more I look at it the less crazy it seems, I think he easily could of had ~32HR and 100RBI this year if it wasn’t for the wrist injury. I don’t think his batting average will every be that crazy but I think he will become more patient as he settles in to his MLB career. .285/.385/.550 would be a nice line.

Bill James' projections are always optimistic

One would think he would have corrected it by now. I think he does it intentionally to sell more books.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

his projections suck ass

jason tyner will be lucky to even make an MLB roster yet alone hit 3 HRs in one season, let alone his career

everything Rays,Marlins,Twins and Reds
who needs k-rod for 37 million when you can have d-rod for 50k?

I wouldn't call Bill James's projections optimistic..

they just suck.

He also has Phil Hughes at a 3.35 ERA.

Don;t know how many IP that was for. But I’d call that optimistic – mirroring the psoter’s projections above.

Plus

you only have 24 players with 8 hitters starting.

Do you see the Rays foregoing the DH this season?

Not done.

Navarro was missing

Vogt early, Vogt often.

Looks like with that line up your gonna have a gazillion passed balls or wild pitches.

PS Pass it to the left side.
