I wonder how long before Hank has the starting lineup for the AL All Star Team? Bastards......

Rumors fly around like crazy. Most are pure fantasy.
Here is another view of Manny and the Yankees:

3:26PM: Ken Davidoff has a different opinion on the subject of Manny Ramirez’ future in New York, as well as a couple of other interesting free agent names. From his Sunday update:
“I would not bet so much as a penny on the Yankees acquiring Manny Ramirez, Ben Sheets or Mark Teixeira. Andy Pettitte can come back, and Mike Cameron will come aboard if the Brewers take Kei Igawa. If deals involving those two guys can’t happen, then maybe a starting pitcher/centerfielder in those price ranges (one-year investments for about $10 million) will wind up in the Bronx. But that’s about it.”

In any case, the Yankees should use their financial advantage to its utmost. It helps them compete, but guarantees them nothing more.
They're yet to really overpay.
Manny seems like the one guy they might bite on though, they should be focused on Teixeira if they’re adding only one hitter, but I won’t get in their way if they want to overpay on Manny.

Absolutely
Especially if they give him a 4+ year deal like he wants, and end up getting stuck with his contract once the inevitable skills contraction begins.
Manny could easily go to the Bronx
All they have to do is offer 3yr/60 million and he’ll take it. I really think that manny will go to whoever gives him more than the two years he was already offered from L.A.
He makes more sense for an A.L. team anyways. This also allows them to shop Xavier nady or not offer arbitration after next season. I think Nady tries the FA market next year and the Yankees know it. So why keep him. Gardner will be the man after Manny’s 3 year deal is up.
Have fun spending $0.5B/year for a cellar-dwelling team of prima donnas, Hank
Lay off the stadium, Iwamura
