Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

He'll start to look more like a stereotypical power hitter
.279/.381/.533/27
Average would be closer to .250, but he’s still fast enough to leg out a few extra singles.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
Beej struck out 25% of the time last year and hit .273
Bradley struck out 27% of the time and hit .332
Kemp also struck out 25% of the time and hit .300
Not impossible for BJ to hit .310 with his strikeout rate, but he’ll need some BABIP help to pull it off

Ummmm.Upton is at 25% k rate, .350 BABIP
A-Rod 2006: 24.2, .330 BABIP, .302 AVG
Milton Bradley 2008: 27.1 k%, .390 BABIP, .320 AVG
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
he also struck out more last year because sometime his shoulder hurt too much to swing at some instead pitches

who needs k-rod for 37 million when you can have d-rod for 50k?

.278/.376/.465 - 38 SB
I’m going to temper by excitement and assume he is somewhere in the middle of these two players (07 B.J. and 08 B.J.) in all aspects other than SB (Oblique in 07)
.840 OPS is fine.
.290/.405/.505
35 SB’s….. a drop because he wont be on 1st as much when he hits…..34 homers.
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
.315/.425/.495
36 SB.
bj becomes a 30/30 man next year
if he hits .315 with 36SB's and 30+ homers
I will eat my hat, shit it out and then eat it again.
Oh and then I will hold Friedman at gun point and tell him he better lock him up.
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
I do see a 40/40 season in his future
but I don’t think next year. 30/30 is sexy enough though.

BJ showed what he is capable of with a healthy swing(against playoff calber pitching no less) in the postseason.
It should be interesting to see how his approach at the plate is next year, I think his injury in a way was a valuable experience, really allowed him to hone in his eye. It’s pretty amazing that he seemed to always work competitive at bats despite the huge hole in his swing do to injury.
Upton 2009
.338 avg. / .414 OBP / ,525 SLG % / 57 SB’s

Thoughts...
BJ will hack a bit more, as he knows he can clobber the ball with a healthy shoulder. His AVG will go up a bit, but not to crazy 2007 BABIP levels. With fewer BBs, his OBP will be down a bit from 2007, but nothing big. And his power will return, but his SLG won’t be crazy high due a reasonable BABIP. But yes, all numbers pulled out of my arse.
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
But yes, all numbers pulled out of my arse.
I use that method a lot too (see below)
Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all.
Same numbers, same logic
I think this is pretty accurate
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

i think that bossman is going to have an MVP caliber season next year with his healthy shoulder and those sexy strides that he takes will amount into 50+ SBs, in the postseason he showed how much of a threat his power and speed are, andi cant wait for the season to start and watch this bossman, become an MVP candidate year after year
