Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart

I'll keep going Lobstein until he wins it
I picked him for the last 3
I saw a little video on him and he is very impressive from a physical standpoint for a high schooler. Plus he’s lefty and has several pitches

I will be shocked if he isn't a top 10 spect after 2009
but I have a hard time voting him before he throws a pitch at any level for us.

link?
Do you think he has the stuff to shoot up through the minors?

Here's a couple neat links I found on Lobstein recently
Sorry I still cant seem to get the linking procedure right…http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/events/draft_report/y2008/index.jsp?mc=lobstein
This was from a pre-draft article from March that covered the top prep prospects for the ’08 draft, included were Beckham and Lobstein. Click on the video and there is a short video clip and bio that goes with it, and also a thorough scouting from one of his starts.
I like everything I’ve heard about him, and especially like Friedman and co. comments after the draft when they were shocked and excited to have Lobstein fall to them in round 2.
Of course he’s a high school kid who hasnt thrown a pitch yet so you never know

A few things I gathered from him there...
threw his fb 88-90 mph, but he’s shown more in the past. Very good curve. Strong average changeup that could be a plus pitch but needs work.
Physical Description: A big, projectable lefty, Lobstein is kind of like a stronger Chuck Finley type.
Strengths: He has the chance to throw three plus pitches with a smooth and easy delivery.
He is very athletic on the mound (former basketball player) and has good mechanics, I think those are as important as any of this stuff and say a lot about what he will be. I just like a lot about this guy, most of all that we were able to sign him. NOw we just have to hope he stays healthy and progresses through his career (easier said then done)

The way he bends his arm on his windup
could be an injury concern, but that’s just nitpicking.
I could be wrong though

I went with Rollins too.
If he turns into Sonny/Slowey/Baker I’d be thrilled.

wow if he turns into one of them or close to one of them, then our pitching depth will be even more outstanding
what do you guys think is going to happen with Rollins, with almost all of our top pitching prospects ahead of him on the depth chart?
MLB-Rays,Marlins,Twins, and Reds
NFL-Vikings,Lions(i know Shut up),texans, and Bills
NBA-Timberwolves(also shut up),Cavilers(bye bye LeBron in '10)
NHL- Wild and Penguins
College-Gophers,Gators,Longhorns and Irish.
all of the above mentioned teams are in order by my favorites

Trade?
Trade pitching depth for a second baseman or first basemen, catcher would be nice as well.

I am thinking if a guy doesn't receive a vote, he shouldn't be on the next poll.
Anyone agree? Disagree?

Works for me
I say replace one of them with Ryan Reid, he is probably our best RP prospect.
If there is a 2nd, I think DJ Jones will have a big year next season
There wont be more than 3 and my 3rd choice, I would go with Jacob Jeffries

Ruggiano
There is something to be said for being close to the majors. He might be a quad-A player, but the way he has continuously killed Durham something should be said to his ability. Even if he doesn’t get a chance with the Rays’ crowded outfield, I could see him being a successful piece to another team’s puzzle. With decent power, decent speed, decent defense, decent walkrrates, and the ability to maintain a decent average. His upside might not be high, but hes consistent.

limited time in a non-starting MLB role
isn’t enough to make that judgement in my opinion.
