DRaysBay Community Prospect #2

I know it's a bit quick to be pulling the trigger, but I figure that there probably isn't a huge chance that Fernando Perez comes back to get the next 50 consecutive votes, storming back for a come from behind victory.

The options are listed on the poll.  If at any point there's anyone you think should be added, please let me know.

I also wanted to add a list of all the potential prospects, but I can't figure out how to not have a 12p gap after an "enter".  Can anyone help me out here?

How are we defining prospect?

Most likely to contribute this year? Ever?
Highest upside? Least risk?

I would like to see this succeed but I think we need some ground rules.

Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found
a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up
that much.

However you want to define it

I usually think of it as who I think will have the best career, weighing the best, median and worst case scenarios of each, and the likelihood they they will reach such scenarios.

I wouldn’t say it has to do with next year though, unless you’re looking at it from the perspective of how much trade value a player has. I look at full career, although there’s a legitimate argument to only look at what you think their first 6 years would look like.

I love how there are a bunch of votes for other

But I have no idea who is the “other” those people are voting for.

Tim Beckham is the obvious one

but I also think McGee should be added soon. He still has amazing stuff, hes very young and he will be back from injury. Maybe replace Jaso with him for a few rounds? Nothing against Jaso but he wont be getting the most votes anytime soon.

Even as a reliever

I like McGee more, that shear upside is just ridonkulous.

I like Jaso and all, and reports of ever-improving defense seem good, but I have don’t put him over McGee.

What's more likely?

Jaso sticking at catcher, or a guy that never had control finding after TJ? That’s what worries me about McGee.

Based on who I think will have the best career

I went with Brignac slightly over Beckham and Hellickson with Davis at 5. Brignac has a chance to be a franchise SS who won’t have the flare that Beckham will but will be solid in every aspect of the game. Hellickson is a rare combination of Maddux like control with Oswalt type stuff and should be a #2 starter some day. Davis is no scrub and would be most teams 1 or 2 he has a chance to be a solid #2 or #3 starter as soon as 2010

I'll do the next one tomorrow

I’ll try doing one a day until I leave for Japan at the end of the month…
