Townsend to the Pen
Injury-troubled pitcher Wade Townsend is moving to the bullpen, following an outing Wednesday where he was shelled for 6 runs in the eighth inning of a Double-A exhibition with the Yankees.
Townsend, the former 8th overall pick by the Rays in 2005 struggled through 21 starts at Single-A Columbus last year before he was sidelined by injuries a year after recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Exciting
Could we see them both in the Tampa pen next year? Townsend/Morlan/Percival perhaps, and in 2010 one takes over as closer?

RayOfBoundlessOptimism
Man, you are the most relentlessly optimistic fellow I've ever crossed paths with, hence the name play. Every possible prospect will be a spectacular success as soon as possible - even the older ones who can't seem to find their way out of the D.R. What, Talbot won't be there for lights out long relief? Or will E-Jax handle that job.
Hey, dude, you're a fan, and fans have every right to Hope for the best. I'm just pulling your extraordinarily Hopeful leg. Looking forward to your wins projection if we all offer one at some point. I assume you'd bet the Vegas over. If you're old enough to gamble. If not, I know an honest bookie.
