Bad blood in the AL East
Looks like the collision broke Cervelli's wrist.
Giardia was not very happy with the rough and tumble play in spring training, but did anyone happen to notice Arod going into 2nd earlier in the game spikes up? I love the fact our team is playing hard EVERY game. It is going to be a great season!

This is from the Yankee Lohud blog. The article cited above points out that Maddon spoke with the first group of reporters but did not accomodate a second group that showed up later. So the Lohud blog incites fans with the phrase "hid in his office" which is a misstating of what happened, but provokes fans.
I do not know what the protocol is in spring training. I remember a lot of controversy when Pete Rose ran over the AL catcher in the all-star game, essentially ending his career. Naturally, most Yankee fans appear to be furious while Rays' fans tend to puff out our chests with pride at the toughness of our team. Probably silly either way.

Re: Bad blood in the AL East
I expect the 2 managers will have a private conversation about it to try to cool things down or at least get it out on the table. I do agree the characterization by the NY media is a bit inflammatory.
