Some Notes:

-Kaz is throwing extended spring training games Tues., then may make it to Vero Beach by the end of the week. Depending on how well he does, he'll be back late April-early may.

-Garza is throwing from 80-100, may throw over 120 soon. Good to see he's throwing long-toss

-Orvella was put on 60-Day DL to make room for Longo

-And of course, Longo is excited and lost sleep last night over his Debut. Even he is human.

Knock one out of the park, show the kid how it is to be a Rookie of the Year!

by Jacob Larsen on Apr 12, 2008 7:28 PM EDT reply actions

being a long time rays fan, i try to look at the bright side of all situations...but something ill never understand and frankly irritates me is the fact they dont have a consistent lineup. ive never seen a team in the MLB constantly change around every aspect of their game. Stick with one maybe two right fielders...and then an outfielder on the bench. STOP putting nathan haynes in, lets keep our starting lineup in every game we can! WE WANT TO WIN!

by RAYS44 on Apr 12, 2008 7:29 PM EDT reply actions

Well

Hinske or Gomes can't exactly field out there....

by Jacob Larsen on Apr 12, 2008 7:30 PM EDT up reply actions

nathan haynes sucks too though... dont you agree about consistency though? its prob. hard to never know where you are playing or even if you are playing

by RAYS44 on Apr 12, 2008 7:31 PM EDT reply actions

but he can field...

and fielding is more important sometimes, especially with the Rays....

by thebaddancingraysfan on Apr 12, 2008 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

If I recall, triples aren't as much a pitchers fault than it is the fielders...

Most of the time, it's a poor route by an outfielder or a ball that decides it'll roll forever.

by Jacob Larsen on Apr 12, 2008 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

A triple is a hit off a pitcher...

The pitcher makes the hitter miss, there will be no triple.

Why pull Howell there? Just a waste of a pitcher - he's used to going long, had the lefty going. Don't get it, not like he threw a bunch of pitches in the 8th. But Miller did fine, so there you go.
