MLB 08: The Show - Total Minors Roster (Beta)
A couple of guys from OperationSports.com have been working on a total minors roster for the PS3 version of The Show since the game came out and they released a Test/Beta version of the roster last week. I knew some of you played the game and figured you might be interested in checking it out. They went all out on the faces and did one hell of a job.

If you're PS3 illiterate and unsure how to transfer this file to your PS3, please refer to this thread.
The final product should be one awesome accomplishment. And if you like what they've done thus far, be sure to drop in on the OperationSports.com forum and let Jim and Knight know.

How about the face work
on some of the prospects? Briggy, Price, Davis, McGee, DJ, Fernie, Chris Mason, Longo, Niemann.
They did an absolutely amazing job.

What does the minor leagues look like?
I haven’t really played a real baseball video game since MVP ‘05, and that had Triple A, Double A, and High A at that time. How does The Show set up in that regard?
I’m actually more of a Baseball Mogul player than anything else. I love the managing/front office aspect of the game more than anything else. I know the Madden series has always combined that into the game quite well in Owner mode, have either MLB 2K9 or The Show done it quite as well?

They’ve only included the AAA and AA teams. And thats somewhat unfortunate in my opinion, only because the Hi-A teams were good places to stash players who were inactive.
The Show is supposed to have a pretty in-depth Franchise mode, but I haven’t had the time to mess around with it. But if you like playing with the minors, The Show is the only way to go. MLB 2K doesn’t have the playable minor league teams, IIRC.
I suppose I could toy around with the Franchise mode for a while tomorrow and let you know how it is, if you’re interested in getting the game.

I am playing franchise right now
I just manage the games. It is awesome. You can manage big league and minor league games. I just called for a suicide squeeze lol. This game is so addicting I wanna skip school tomorow. I need to try and dump Jackson and some others, I wanna get a top prospect. Oh and when you do a franchise, sign the bonds character it is WORTH IT! Dude is a MONSTER.

I'm not sure
I was never involved with the game giveaway thing, but I too am not in a position to be spending money on videojuegos at this point.
Vinny, just for reference though, I’d like to know how far baseball video games have progressed in terms of their franchise modes.

Well,
just looking it over you can tell that its a lot like what MVP 05 was. In fact, IIRC, everything that you could do in MVP 05 can also be done in The Show, except for building your own stadium. On top of controlling ticket prices, stadium vendors, ect., you’re also given a training budget, a rehab budget, and a transportation budget. You’re responsible for scouting, which includes eastern, central, and western United States as well as international countries (which is pretty cool).
So, its pretty in depth Pat. Much more so than MVP was.
