I was thinking this before tonight and the game against the Jays confirmed my thoughts.
I think we should use Hinske as a regular starter. I don't think we should pencil him in at any specific position though. Chone Figgans in LA is used or was (I haven't followed the Angels much this year( as a guy who plays multiple positions but starts nearly every night. Hinske is hitting .327 with 5 homeruns and hasn't played as much as guys like Pena or Upton so I'm sure his per AB #'s are even better. I'm not saying Hinske is going to be this years Pena, but I'd like to give him some more oppurtunities to find out what we can get out of him. He can play 1st, 3rd, LF/RF, or DH. It gives us a chance to give Longoria/CC/Pena days off when he isn't playing right or DH. If he begins to struggle go back to the original plan of platoon but for now ride the wave and see what he can do.
