Lineup
Rays:
Iwamura, 2B
Crawford, LF
Upton, CF
Pena, 1B
Longoria, 3B
Gomes, DH
Hinske, RF
Riggans, C
Bartlett, SS
They said if they wanted to count it an error
it had to be caught stealing as well. He turned back to first but it was questionable he would have made it back
Pena needs to be...
droped in the lineup to the 8th spot with Hinske moving into the clean-up spot
in my fantasy league
should I drop Trevor Hoffman for Nationals closer Jon Rauch? Hoffman has sucked hard recently, but the Nationals are also awful. This is the choice you get when you neglect RP during the draft…
is there no one else on waivers?
i just picked up the SF closer and the ARI closer in the same week. check that out before going with a closer on a horrible team.
anybody watching see what happened to beej
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
nothing yet
apparently it’s a semi-common event for him, although he went on the DL for it last time
for those not watching on TV
What did Upton do … hurt his shoulder swinging?
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
Shoulder popped out?
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
doesn't he mildly dislocate hit shoulder all the time??
i could have swore one time he did this then came back a couple days later…
now whats the delay?
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
What's going on? Is it raining up there?
Completely unrelated, from the video clips on gameday, looks like there’s literally about no one in the stands.
Thats cool they have the vids now
Jonny put a charge into that ball
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
Yeah, he definitely did.
Also, that guy made a nice grab of it in the stands.

Same here
I’ve know people before, though, that if their shoulder pops out, they can just pop it back in pretty easy. It’s tender and a bit sore for awhile and at risk to pop out again, but it’s normally not that big a deal. Hopefully it’s the same case here.

Gamecast showed that at the fence
Was it?
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
That's what it looked like to me on gameday too.
I can’t say what it was like in real life, but you’ve got to love Longoria. At least he gave it a ride.

Pretty good game so far.
Garza’s been pitching a nice game. Made one mistake to Jones and he cranked a 2-run homer. Gomes has hit a homer and BJ dislocated his shoulder swinging at a pitch and so Haynes is in for him.

Burress is sitting at 100 pitches, he probably won't come back out,
Garza is at 82, hopefully he can get a quick inning and go another one.
Looks like Millar is battling here
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
He's done after this one right?
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
I would imagine.
This is only his second start off the DL. Plus, he hasn’t been throwing as many strikes in the last few innings.

Quality Start From Garza
98 pitches with a WHIP under 1.00. Just made one mistake.

Too bad we didn't get him in line for a W.

What the hell Aki

And then who do we put in leadoff?
I don’t really feel like there’s a good replacement. All our good OBP guys right now are all our power hitters, basically.
by Steve Slowinski on May 1, 2008 2:44 PM EDT up reply actions
forget OBP
how about a good contact guy? gimme Navarro for all i care, just someone who makes contact with the ball more often.
I think Aki will come around.
And I don’t really see Navarro as a leadoff hitter exactly. He’s been hitting the ball well so far this year, but he’s not going to keep his .400 average. I would like someone else leading off as well, but I dunno…I don’t see another good option.

CC hacking ... how good?
There’s a fan post over on the right column entitled “CC Hacking … How Bad?”
I’m primarily an Astros fan and let me tell ya, he can come hack at all the pitches he wants to in Houston, including first pitches any time.
Heck, we’re waiting for Ty Wigginton to come off the DL tomorrow and save our season. That’s how bad it is.

If Upton can't go tomorrow, is Longo or Hinske hitting in the 3rd hole?
My Blog. Check it out if you wish.
good question
If Bartlett would relax in the box and take a walk I would love to see him in the 2-hole with Craw hitting third. He hit well there last year, but it is a moot point until Barty can work a count.
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
Anytime's a bad time for Upton to get hurt
when you’re short on outfielders.
Ruggiano & Gabe Gross vs. the Red Sox. Yikes.
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
Go Rays!
I am loving the score… Still not high on Garza, but he is a better option then Hammel…

Ah...
I’m a thief!
Aki’s defense at second is to valuable to pull him all together, but at least move him down.
And yeah, I am serious. Aki is striking out way too much.
www.citadel-insurance.com
i know it man, we all feel it
great D, but he K’s too much to leadoff right now. he is just not even making contact with the ball, and when he does, it’s a weak fly out. he needs to move down, get his swing back.
people ask, who’s better? i say, who’s worse?!
I don't like having a catcher hit leadoff either...
But going up and down our lineup if you throw out positions he’s the best option. Speed is worthless if you’re sitting on the bench.

We need Fernando Perez to get MLB ready
That would solve our OF and leadoff problems

I Agree except
For that rope he laced out in the 8th the other night to give us the win. That was clutch but yeah move him down. If Beej is ok I would be fine with him hitting leadoff he has a great eye, good wheels, he just doesn’t know how to properly round/slide into 3rd.
Hey Yankees... you can take your apology and your trophy and shove 'em straight up your ass!
Hmmm
Is there any good OFers in the draft this year? There seems to be none in the elite category, save Pedro Alvarez.
Damn I wish we kept Josh Hamiliton.

Wheeler
Can go 2 occasionally, but with the Astros, his effectiveness declined with over-use. The Rays really don’t want to go to that well too often.
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
I hope
They pitch this McCrory kid everyday. Can’t spot his fastball and its his only live pitch.

If AJ Burnett will just do his job
And Wakefield’s knuckler doesn’t knuck a few times,
the Rays will be in first place on May 1.
Go Blue Jays
There is a bright side to the '08 season.
Barry Bonds & Roger Clemens are out of baseball.
$3000
I put $20 at 150:1 odds on the Rays to win the W.S. in Vegas the weekend the season started. Keep it up guys. All I ask is that you just concentrate on making the playoffs.
