should I drop Trevor Hoffman for Nationals closer Jon Rauch? Hoffman has sucked hard recently, but the Nationals are also awful. This is the choice you get when you neglect RP during the draft…

by Albertrayon on May 1, 2008 2:08 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Same here
I’ve know people before, though, that if their shoulder pops out, they can just pop it back in pretty easy. It’s tender and a bit sore for awhile and at risk to pop out again, but it’s normally not that big a deal. Hopefully it’s the same case here.

What happened so far?
by P Brady on May 1, 2008 2:24 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Pretty good game so far.
Garza’s been pitching a nice game. Made one mistake to Jones and he cranked a 2-run homer. Gomes has hit a homer and BJ dislocated his shoulder swinging at a pitch and so Haynes is in for him.
by Steve Slowinski on May 1, 2008 2:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Burress is sitting at 100 pitches, he probably won't come back out,

I think Aki will come around.
And I don’t really see Navarro as a leadoff hitter exactly. He’s been hitting the ball well so far this year, but he’s not going to keep his .400 average. I would like someone else leading off as well, but I dunno…I don’t see another good option.

I’m primarily an Astros fan and let me tell ya, he can come hack at all the pitches he wants to in Houston, including first pitches any time.

great D, but he K’s too much to leadoff right now. he is just not even making contact with the ball, and when he does, it’s a weak fly out. he needs to move down, get his swing back.

I don't like having a catcher hit leadoff either...
But going up and down our lineup if you throw out positions he’s the best option. Speed is worthless if you’re sitting on the bench.

For that rope he laced out in the 8th the other night to give us the win. That was clutch but yeah move him down. If Beej is ok I would be fine with him hitting leadoff he has a great eye, good wheels, he just doesn’t know how to properly round/slide into 3rd.
