Good swings by everyone on Santana.

Even the outs were hit hard, minus Pena.

Checking in from the relatives, what have I missed?

Sonny looks better this inning...

good AB’s in the first, put 3 up on a bunch of singles.

C-Pain struck out, longo sac-fly (of the line drive variety); then big red with a sweet line drive single

Thanks, I'll be back in a little.

One of the most worrying things to me

is how few first pitch strikes Sonny is throwing. It’s very unlike him.

needed that

we have a 3 run jump on one of the best pitchers in the league, need to keep this locked down…

Anybody know the call sign of the Rays' radio station?

I want to listen to the game on mlb audio, but I can’t tell which acroynm is the Rays’ broadcast.

that ball was in the dirt.

if gross didn’t exist, upton would have had it.

Sonny doesn't have it today.

It’s going to be a struggle.

LONGO TIME.

Yes I will do this every AB.

by SaberToothedPie on May 11, 2008 2:41 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

How is Sonny having that bad a day?

He gave up a walk on a close pitch, induced some grounders, and Vlad got lucky on a great pitch.

Sometimes hits fall in there and that’s what has happened.

60 pitches in 3 innings is not typical Sonnanstine.

Yes, there have been some unlucky hits, but he usually doesn’t fall behind so many batters. Nor does he usually have two walks in 3 IP. Hopefully, he pulls it together quickly.

I think he has been getting squeezed a little

But he has also been missing high. Not typical Sonny, but he hasn’t been getting hit hard either.

sonny just doesn’t have it today.

by websterjtc on May 11, 2008 3:10 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Ervin Santana threw 40 pitches in the first inning and he’s only at 80 now.

by websterjtc on May 11, 2008 3:12 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Nibbling on the corners won't work today.

This ump isn’t giving anything just off the corner.

Longlorious.

by RATW on May 11, 2008 3:22 PM EDT reply reply   0 recs

Which killed Sonny.

He can’t live in the heart of the zone and the ump wasn’t giving him anything else. Not making excuses, but that’s a factor.
