next series rays vs yankees
now that we swept the angels im looking forward to the yankees series and i honestly think that we can win this series 3-1 and possibly sweep these jerks as well since they dont have a-rod
the pitching matchups this series
matt garza vs andy "hgh" pettitte=this one will come down to the pens adv rays
edwin jackson vs chien meng wang= which jackson shows up? adv yankees
james shields vs mike mussina=2 hitter, 1 hitter, maybe no-no this time? adv rays
scott kazmir vs darrell rasner= um i wonder which 1 i will pick? i think kaz lol adv rays
so all this series comes down to is if edwin jackson shows up and not michael so if edwin shows up we could sweep them!
let me know what how you feel about this series!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves
Going into the Angels series, we should be happy to get one win(let alone three).
As for the Shields no-hitter thing, what the? No-hitters aren’t implied, nor should what he’s done thus far….Shields is a streaky pitcher, who seems to pitch best at home this year.

Let me try to be completely objective.
Game 1: Garza has had trouble with his command early this season. The last 2 starts he has appeared to be more focused on the mound with a better approach to gameday. Seeing as how the Yankees have a great idea of the strikezone, I precit Garza doesn’t make it through 5. Rays win 8-6
Game 2: Wang is turning into a Ray killer. Yankees win 7-1. Jackson goes 7+ with 3 ER (I would be lieing if I said I couldn’t see Jackson struggling here in what is a huge matchup for him against the Yanks ace)
Game 3: I think Mussina has been washed up for the better part of 4 years, however, he has pitched well lately. Mussina surprises and has a good game here, 8 innings 1 ER. Shields goes 6 innings, 5 ER. Rays lose
Game 4: Kazmir goes 6, struggles late and gives up 2-3 ER. Rays go up big early and the bats go cold late, but Rays hold on to win 7-6

No predictions but
Having the starters and pen pitching at a high level puts this series in a whole new light. I expect a great series. GO RAYS!

Not to mention that the Yankees lineup is terrible right now...
They only have like 2 legit bats in the lineup right now.

The Yankees are struggling right now
and are middle of the pack offensively. I think the Rays are the better team. But don’t underestimate them. I see 4 players who are legit bats in Jeter, Damon, Abreu and Matsui. And while hitting .183, Giambi’s OPS is .810 which is an OPS+ of 122. There are even some signs that Cano is coming out of his terrible start, and he is a terrific hitter.
I really do think the Rays are better defensively and in pitching. The only matchup I think clearly favors the Yankees is the Wang/Jackson pairing, while Shields and Kazmir should get a clear nod in the other two and the Pettitte/Garza one is close, although that may be the fan in me speaking. I also think the Rays currently are superior offensively while NY misses A-Rod and Posada.
But the Yankees are still talented, patient hitters with power. Against pitchers like Jackson, Garza and even Kazmir, they can easily wear the starters down.
