espn the mag
hey did anyone else get this weeks espn the mag and flip through it and then all of a sudden boom! i see an article about elijah dukes! i mean i really liked the article last year about former devil ray josh hamilton because atleast josh has rebounded and is becoming a star now and is clean now and is an aspirination to never give up hope, but dukes is the dumbest player in the bigs and still hasnt done anything to right himself from the last couple of years here in the rays organization, i mean all of things that he did that were so violent they just threw to the side and ignored because he could become a star, but before then he could kill someone! i mean he needs a ex cop to follow him all around! who needs a babysitter at 23yrs old? i mean honestly if his wife wouldve showed up to their court meeting he couldve been throw in jail and he really pissed me off the last couple of years, i mean at least delmon young never got 4 girls pergnant and threatened to kill a couple of people!

didnt see the article
but I completely agree. That is kind of weird for ESPN to COMPLETELY ignore the whole sociopath aspect and focus an article to a guy who at this point in time is a 4th OFer trying to not throw away his career

Josh Hamilton has one and he’s 27.

Glossed over? Not hardly!
I’ve got the magazine sitting on my desk at work right now. The subtitle of the article says:
Elijah Dukes has bumped umps, choked a teammate and threatened to kill his wife and kids. If only the most menacing player in baseball weren’t also one of the most talented.
And yeah, it does mention that he texted his estranged wife a picture of a gun.
Also says in the article:
The first of Dukes’ seven arrests in the state of Florida came when he was 13, for misdemeanor battery. And while some of his many charges have been dropped, he’s received probation and community service for the others. Dukes has always left damage in his wake. It’s been that way since 1992’s Hurricane Andrew drove an 8-year-old Elijah and his family from drug-infested Homestead to a run-down part of Tampa.
