Should Joe Have Sent Aki?

A minor point following this great effort but I would appreciate hearing everyone's opinion.

Poll
In the 8th inning with the Rays leading 7-1 and Iwamura on 1st, the Yanks elected to have Giambi play well behind the runner. Probably cost the Rays a run when Carlos Peña singled with Aki still on first. Should the Rays have taken the base in this ca
Yes, definitely, No way to know how many runs are needed.

No, the game was in hand and why give the Yanks any extra reason to get juiced.

Honestly.....

Who gives a crap? I mean, your question would have been better served if the score was 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th. No offense, but it wasn’t a very relevant question. Well, maybe it was to someone who critiques every inning of every game.

i agree

if the score was close then this wouldve been debatable, but in a 6run game it really doesnt matter

I agree it wouldn't matter 99+% of the time

But it is silly to think that this situation (Giambi playing behind the runner) could have possibly happened in a close game.

RJ is not an elitist douchebag who hates scouting

This is bushleague

He was playing behind because he knew Aki wouldnt steal – another unwritten rule of baseball.
