Nothings changed. If you read the article, basically the government is just putting their case together. He’d still be able to play the season and would make us instantly a better team. Anytime you can cheaply add the greatest hitter who’s ever lived, I’m in favor of it.

The thing is

I don’t post after every bad start “OH I TOLD YOU SO, JACKSON SUCKS!” Now do I?

My argument is on facts: His K rate is down, his K/BB rate is the same as last year (entering tonight), and his BABIP looks unsustainable, meaning he’ll allow more runs along the way.

If he can tweak the two he has control on (K rate and K/BB rate) I’ll admit he’s improved, until then no.

Listen, I love Jackson. And I don’t like Sonny. I’m convinced Jackson’s command has improved. I can see that. But I’m not convinced he’s anything other than a #4 starter just yet. I’m also not convinced Sonny is anything other than a journeyman arm. But it’s early and we’re dealing with a small sample size here.

doesn’t matter to me. Who cares what Jackson’s #s look like in the past. He is a different pitcher now than he was at the beginning of last year so any #s, no matter how small, will be skewed by his poor start to last season. Once Jackson becomes tougher mentally and learns to grind when he doesn’t have his best stuff he is definitely going to be better than a #4 starter because when he is on he is filthy.

His #s get skewed by his bad outings...

which are just terrible. He has to get mentally tougher so that he can limit damage when things aren’t going his way. It’s all part of the maturing process of a young pitcher. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I think my experience in the game helps me understand things that #s sometimes miss.
