A New Fan Attitude?
Despite the fact we only pulled around 16k tonight, it sounded as though 2/3rds of attendees tonight were rooting for the home team. Every time a "Let's go Yankees" chant would begin, it was soon drowned out with the sounds of cowbells and boos. And even though I'm not a fan of booing opposing good players without good cause, I got a strange satisfaction out of hearing Jeter booed mercilessly.
All in ll, A very welcome change! I much prefer drowning out the opposing fans to shaking my head in disgust.

It's changing fast
I was at the game last night and the atmosphere was AWESOME! One of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever been to. You are correct that only about 1/3 of the fans were cheering for NY. Not only did you not really hear any “Let’s go Yankees” chants, but there were several clearly audible “Yankees Suck” chants.
Many of the Yankee fans left before the Matsui home run, and when the Rays scored the winning run the rest of the Yankee fans were practically running for the gates. It was actually hard to find any NY fans to razz on the way out. It was hilarious.
We’ve waited so long for this moment, and it is time for Rays fans to seize the day. Get out to the games and make sure the Spankee fans know that they are no longer welcome in our house!
