Price vs. A-Rod?

From CBS Sportsline,

"SP prospect David Price, selected first overall in the 2007 amateur draft, is scheduled to start for the Rays' extended spring training team Saturday against the Yankees' extended team, which will included the rehabbing Alex Rodriguez (quad). The left-hander, who strained his pitching elbow in a minor league spring training game March 20, will be making his fourth extended spring start.
(Updated 05/15/2008)."

Does anyone have the specifics on this game?

Location?

Time?

Thanks to a quick response from Tomkin,

As posted on the front page of the sports section today. (sorry i jump right to the box scores)

“Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez didn’t play at Tropicana Field this week because of a strained right quad, but he is scheduled to play against the Rays on Saturday – 10 a.m. extended spring training game at the Naimoli Complex. As an added attraction, 2007 top draft pick David Price is scheduled to start for the Rays in what could be his last appearance before reporting to Class A Vero Beach. Admission is free at the complex, 7901 30th Ave. N, St. Petersburg.”

10 is early but i will be there,

Tampa Yanks play Vero on Monday

A Rod should be in that game also. Not sure who is pitching, but it’s at Legends Field

Hellickson/Rollins are scheduled to go for VB @ Legend's Field I believe.

Price

I thought he looked terrific today, throwing his whole arsenal with confidence and command. In his first AB, A-Rod struck out on a dandy slider after hellacious fastballs he could barely foul off. The home run was on the first pitch of his second AB, a bomb to RF. After that he popped up foul to 1B, walked and struck out again-called strike 3 fastball on the inside corner I think. That came after what looked like a called strike 3 on the previous pitch. I think A-Rod thought it was strike 3 also.

Price sure looks good on the mound. The rookies are hardly competition, I know, but watching Price is a treat.

Reports

had him at 95-97. That’s where we saw him against the Yankee’s in Spring Training and that’s where reports have had him since he’s been back. I’m so excited about him. If he stays healthy, I see absolutely no reason why he can’t and won’t be here as early as August and at the very latest September.

Nice job

Thanks for the report.

Anybody else catch your eye? Did DJ play? David Newmann pitch? Matt Moore?

DJ is out indefinitally, David Newmann is out for the season, he had shoulder surgery. You won’t see him anywhere.

It's tough for me to believe in any pitching prospect

but if there is one I think is close to can’t miss, it is Price. I had thought he was generally in the low 90s in college occasionally hitting 95, but apparently he has added a couple of miles. But more important is his ability to do what he wants with his pitches and to do it with all his pitches apparently equally. I intend to travel to Vero this Thursday to see his maiden voyage into the pro ranks.

I am going to try and convince either

A) my dad
B) my mom
C) a friend
D) a random bum

to go to Vero Beach to see Price debut.
