Awesome
Well I just wrote this incredibly long post that somehow deleted itself when I went to preview it. Really frustrating considering it was really awesome and chock full of facts, stats, and knowledge in it's rawest form, I'm talking pure uncut over here. Instead, I will give a summary as I cannot even remember the most awesome parts. Basically, it started off with a recommendation to trade for Matt Holliday only to realize his OPS away from Coors field was .780. I then went into detail about how outfield is no longer a perceived strength in our farm system, but pitching is. It mentioned how all Rays pitchers have an ERA this year of 3.64, ERA+ of 112, and the starters (Shields, Kaz, Garza, Sonny, edWIN) have an ERA of 3.65 by my math. With Price seemingly a lock, and Hellboy showcasing amazing peripherals to go along Davis, McGee, and the underachieving Mason we have more arms than we know what to do with. Toss in Kaz's new contract and we finally have a glut of talented pitchers. Soo my recommendation was Davis or McGee plus the one or two other pieces we would need for Holliday.
But, as I stated earlier Holliday goes on one when he is away from the rarified air. My focus switched to another talented outfielder with a better contract, on a team that perennially trades away name players for prospects. Of course I am speaking of the loveable Pirates and one Mr. Jason Bay . $3.5M last year and his OPS since playing fulltime are .908 .961 .928 .745 .872. Obviously, last year was a down year, but if he were to make the switch to RF for us you are looking at a rich man's Gomer. He hits Home/Away equally well .884/.894 OPS, respectively and he mashes lefties at a .936 OPS clip. OPS against righties is .874 so he is no slouch there either. This gives us a competent FULLTIME right fielder, who can break up our good lefties in Aki, Craw, Pena, Floyd. Additionally, he is another gamer that hates to lose, more than he likes to win.
Don't get me wrong I like our current situation in RF where we can mix and match, but having a full-time player is the ideal. His range factor is 2.01 playing LF with a league-average of 1.94. I think this would translate very well to Right to show him as an even more above-average fielder.
I wish you guys had been able to read the original post as it was much better than this, but if it drums up support to fill a weakness with a strength than Hip Hip Hoo-Ray

I've got good feelings...
about Gabe Gross. He can play all 3 outfield spots and his bat might be coming around. He’s had some success in the past and I don’t think an upgrade is worth some of our depth at this point.
