I have a few observations, namely that Vero Beach staff -- also known as the 2007 Columbus staff -- absolutely knows how to not walk people. In fact, most of the new Rays imports have great K:BB ratios, look at Jesse Darcy, Heath Rollins, Ryan Reid, ect.,these are guys relatively new to the system (3 years and under) you have to figure a few of them could become useful down the road. Austin Hinkle remains one of the most interesting pitchers in the organization, after all not too many guys get drafted based on a single performance. The enigmatic Omar Bencomo hasn't walked anyone, very impressive for the 19 year old who only walked 6 in 46.2 innings last year. Folks people don't just do that in the Venezuelan league, that's very encouraging.

I did that on purpose.

Defenses in the minor leagues can be atrocious, and while in theory those result in unearned runs, sometimes scorers get it wrong. The important numbers are listed.
