McClung to the rotation + Collette is big time
http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/05/20/villanueva-moved-to-bullpen.aspx
McClung has been a good long-relief option for the Brewers this season, sporting a 3.79 ERA in 19 innings. He started three games last year in AAA Nashville and was 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA (he also had two relief appearances).
Good luck Seth!
Also go check out our good friend Jason Collette's CBS Sportsline column, if it were up to me. he'd be there full time.

Keep in mind
Seth McClung at his worst for the Rays is better then Carlos Villanueva at his best for the Brewers.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; but if a thing is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

thats not possible, Villaneuva couldnt get his ERA that high if he tried.
McClung has failed in every possible role on a pitching staff, atleast twice. He will fail again. He is pitched halfway decent when the brewers are down 6 runs in the late innings.

I doubt it
He may be a nice guy, but he is a terrible pitcher.

Greetings from a Brewer fan
So how’s Grant Balfour been treating you folks lately? :)
This isn’t a long-term move, the Brewers are low on options to start and are just giving him a chance to make one or two starts before they make another move. He actually hasn’t pitched too terrible since he’s been here… there’s been a lot of speculation that the Rays organization screwed up his mechanics a bit and that he’s got it figured out a little bit more now. He still walks too many, though, something I am sure you are all well aware of.

His mechanics
He could never repeat them. He was rushed then blew out his arm and when he came back was pushed back to the big league level. He was trying to learn on the fly. It’s tough to learn to pitch against big leaguers, it doesn’t matter how hard you throw. They definitely screwed up his development.

If I remember right
the Brewers were saying last year that the Rays wanted him to lower his arm angle because they thought the fastball wasn’t getting enough movement. He’s gone back to just throwing like he used to. We’ll see if it works out for him or not.

Possible
His fastball was arrow straight. It was 95+ but guys could catch up to it.

Seth can be a decent starter with his stuff
as long as he can find the strike zone

I dont know
even when he found the zone he got stroked. His fastball was a very hittable 95. I wish him luck though. `

Seth's problem...
He has to pitch from behind too much and that means a straight 95 heater coming his way. Brewers are making a mistake overexposing him.

McClung
Seth had a pretty good game tonight. No walks, 4 Ks, just 68 pitches in his 5 innings. Probably on a pitch limit while he builds his stamina moving from the bullpen to rotation.
Of course, he teased us like this often only to regress to his normal ineptitude.

For his sake I hope Maddux and company have figured him out.
