Price Set for First Start
David Price will make his first minor league start tonight at Vero Beach. The Clearwater Threshers will be in town to take on the Devil Rays. On an off night for the Major League team, what's better than going to check out our prized prospect? It is $1 beer night at Vero Beach, which should bring out a boisterous crowd to cheer on Price.

Price
My son and I are driving out there today from Clearwater to see his debut. I understand there are supposed to be pm thunderstorms there, so it may be all for naught, but we’ll give it a try anyway. I hope I can report what we see.

I'm gonna try to head out as well but,
On the VB website it says you have to order your tickets a day in advance. I plan to call later, but does anyone know if that is just for will call as I have never heard of this? Also, if anyone else in East Orlando wants to go car pooling saves gas and the environment.

You shouldn’t have any problem buying a ticket as a walk up even with Price pitching.
I’m still debating if I’m going to drive over from Tampa. On the one hand it will be great to see his professional regular season debut, but gas prices and the threat of rain are a deterent. Still, I’d be surprised if I’m not there.
I went to 2 games V the Yanks this last set and also V the Tigers when they were in Lakeland. I thought Legends Field, er GS field would have put on a promotion with Fantasyland since there in the same neighborhood. “Visit Fantasyland and show your ticket stub and recieve one free game of Ring Around the Rosie, the adult version”. Tickets
I bought tickets at the box office last year.
I tried earlier this week to buy tickets to the game on the internet, but the site only allowed you to buy tickets 6 days in advance, and the first day I tried was on Sunday. So the first date it showed for available tickets was Saturday, May 24. I tried calling too, but got no response, nor did they return my messages.
Anyway, we are going to try. Worst that can happen is we get rained out and have to enjoy a nice dinner somewhere while we spend about 7 hours in the car (2 ways that is) talking baseball. Can’t lose proposition.

Were you and your son able to make it? If so, how was the experience?
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get away from work early so I wimped out. As it turns out with the rain delay I probably could have made it for first pitch but than I’d probably be falling asleep at the Trop tonight.

I was going to make the trip
...but my partner just bailed. I probably won’t find anyone and will have to stay in the SRQ. :(
