WOW!!! WHAT A GAME!!!!!!

Talk about brilliant! This game tonight against Anahaeim surely exceeds the fantastic game against Toronto last night. I mean, what can you say? James Shields pitched a freaken GEM. And how about the kid? Evan Longoria showed tonight why he should have been hear all along. Sure he had a little slump, but what a freakin way too bust out of it.

All I gotta say is if you aren;t a believer, then you should be. We can certainly contend in the AL East and for the rest of the league for that matter. Wait for the vets to get back (Floys, Zobrist, Reyes, etc) and this team will be ready to roll. I think the coolest thing about this years team is how the team chemistry is. I am a diehard and have never seen anything like this.

Well Rays fans, I think THIS is what we have been waiting for. Thank you to the baseball gods!

How was the crowd?

Kalas mentioned that the players were hoping for more (although it was a 4-5 road trip).

I was disappointed

It seemed to me there were more than 12,000, but apparently that is all. I commented that it was nice to be at a game where our fans outnumbered the opposition, but you would not expect to see many Angels fans in TB. There did seem to me to be a lot more people in Rays paraphernalia than I ordinarily see, but that is just an impression, of course.

I think the crowd was enthusiastic and loud. Shields began to get a standing ovation, at least from fans on the first base side, pretty much every inning after the 5th or so.

But it was disappointing that so few showed up. 4-5 road trip or no, the Rays are alone in second place, just won a mini-marathon game in glorious fashion and are playing the first place Angels, arguably one of the two best teams in baseball, with our current ace pitching on a Friday night.

Agree

I was disappointed a lot by the number of people there. We need more people to come. My friend and i both were like “This is a joke” with the amount of people. Hopefully more people come tonight.

Defense, defense, defense

This may very well be the best defensive team in the major leagues at this point. Our defense took at least 4 hits away from them last night. Longoria looks like he has been playing in the majors at third for about 10 years.
