I've Been Lost For a While
I have only been a Rays fan for the last two seasons, so this is why I must be confused about this: whats with the "I Don't Smoke, lol" things, etc about Kazmir? Has he had a history of drug use that is well documented?
I'll admit I have been lost for the longest tie about this issue. I'm sure pretty much everyone gets the joke, but I don't. Thanks for clarifying.

The “I Care I Don’t Smoke” ads are everywhere. The Rays have multiple players (mainly Pena) doing ads for the Tobacco Free Florida Campaign.
...My favorite is Jonny Gomes saying he doesn’t dip or chew…because something about that just makes me want to call BS.

Jonny has a heart condition
Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t.

Mets brass had been spooked by Kazmir despite the southpaw’s upper-90s fastball. For one thing, even before Kazmir was drafted fifteenth overall in 2002, the organization was concerned that there was an elevated risk a ligament in his left elbow could eventually blow. Fear also existed about Kazmir’s off-the-field behavior—for a much more serious reason than wrecking Huber’s car, which had been widely reported in the media. Team officials suspected marijuana use, at least early in Kazmir’s minor-league career, and thought he would be ill-suited for the fast pace and temptations of New York.

I saw this dude in Harlem (NYC) today and he was apparently high on heroine and he got around fine despite making a scene. Kazmir probably would be have been more successful with the Mets seeing as how the NL is weak and Shea was a pitchers park. But thankfully Mets management was not thinking during those years.

I am shocked and embarassed by this blog.
To make baseless claims about athletes taking marijuana, for shame. Athletes are paragons of our society, and would never sully or debase themselves like that.
At least not white ones!
