Kazmir calls Papelbon's coments uncalled for......
Check this out....
Most of the Rays call the incident over, including Shields and Maddon. The Rays shouldn't get suckered into Papelbon's nonsense. Let MLB handle him and fine his sorry ass. We had too many guys out for the last brawl. Let's not make the same mistake. But if we do go at it, make sure Jonny Gomes is leading the charge!

Agreed!
Papelbon really needs a letter from the MLB. Are the Red Sox feeling threatened by the Rays?
Apparently

Francona grabbed Papelbon by the shirt and talked to him. I don’t think this really got into Papelbon’s dense and ignorant mind.

Good for him.

The Rays should sign Bob Probert for a 3 game contract for the Boston series. Just have him stand on the top step in case Papelbon tries any shenanigans.
I would prefer Dinger

papelbon better watch out for kaz, he will set him on fire!!!
those of you who watched that video know what im talking about lol btw here is a papelbon quote…”If I’m put in that situation, I want my teammates behind me,” Papelbon said. “And I’m sure Coco feels that. Guys in this clubhouse are going to protect him—and not just Coco, anybody.”
hey papelbon they did a pretty good job protecting coco so im pretty sure that your protected again jonny gomes next time lol what an idiot did he even watch the fight last time? probably was slapping some one in the pen like manny.
also look how much we have improved over the last couple of years on this date
Rays On June 13,
Since 2005 Season Year W-L Win pct. GB in AL East
2005 21-42 .333 15.5
2006 26-38 .406 11.5
2007 29-33 .468 11.5
2008 39-28 .582 1.5
more idiot papelbon quotes
“I’ve just never been the one to sit there and say, ‘OK, golly gee, you guys got us. We’re not going to do nothing,’ and walk away from it. That’s just not how I do it,” Papelbon said.
“Maybe it’s just the way I grew up or whatever, but if my brother hit me, I was hitting him back,” Papelbon. “If he punched me in the nose, I was punching him back in the nose.”
Papelbon believes in the old standard of settling issues on the field after talking with teammates Curt Schilling, Mike Timlin and Tim Wakefield.
“It’s pretty basic to me,” Papelbon said. “I think everybody’s complicating this too much. You ask guys like Schill, Timlin, Wakey in this locker room, when they first came up, this would be said and done with already, guaranteed.”
Francona finally walked through the clubhouse and noticed his ace reliever talking and grabbed him by his shirt like a father to a son and brought him away to his office, presumably to let his reliever know that times are different in baseball.
I'm constantly amazed by
how many people are shocked when some 20-something testosterone-laden athlete makes an inflammatory statement.
Really? My god, I’d never expect a cracker from some swamp in Louisiana to shoot his mouth off in the hyper-competitive environment of professional sports! Next thing I know you’ll be telling me that these newly rich ball players spend money frivolously!

It's not shocking
But that it is to be expected doesn’t make it any more acceptable.

Well, if this season shows us anything, the game has cleaned itself of alot of roid users.
Just look at all the former stars who have all the sudden turned into bums.

Putz is still unhealthy
As for the Tigers, outside of Pudge, I don’t see many people absolutely sucking.

Papelbon's comments
The plain truth is that the Rays got off pretty easy after bringing their pathetic brawl onto the field at Fenway. Gomes showed his true colors and should have been suspended for 20 games. He is a low-rent street-thug who brings shame to his Team and to the great sport of baseball. As the Rays continue to lose and sink deeper in the standings, we can expect to see them display their growing frustration with more of these unprofessional outbursts.
Unprofessional
If you are talking about unprofessional I think you should see that Papelbon is the real unprofessional one here as he is unwilling to put away the situation which should already be over.

Oh yeah.
By your arguement, you’re saying your Sox are showing their frustration that they can’t beat the Rays at the Trop anymore. Youkilis and Manny are haing “unproffessional outbursts” over frustration.

We've won 21 of our past 24 at home.
What part of that is “continuing to lose and sink deeper”? I know there are quite a few intelligent Sox fans out there, I talk to a handful, you my friend are doing them a disservice.
