AA Montgomery Biscuits (33-35)

Morlan Activated-Biscuits RHP Eduardo Morlan has been activated off of the Disabled List; he was expected to arrive in Montgomery last night and could see game action as soon as today in Mobile. Morlan, placed on the DL April 25th with a sore right (pitching) shoulder, was rehabbing at the Naimoli complex in St. Petersburg. Acquired in the off-season as part of the Delmon Young trade from the Minnesota Twins, Morlan had struggled in six appearances for the Biscuits prior to going on the shelf, giving up six earned runs in 6.2 innings of work. Regarded as the organization's finest relief pitching prospect, Morlan will presumptively return to the closer's role that he had occupied prior to the injury.

BISCUITS 1, Mobile 0 (13)-The Biscuits and visiting BayBears exchanged zeros for 12 innings at Riverwalk Stadium on Friday night before two errors doomed Mobile in the bottom of the 13th. CF Rashad Eldridge came in to score when Mobile C John Hester dropped the incoming throw from 3B Cesar Nicolas that, executed properly, would have started a 5-2-3 double play to get Mobile out of the inning. Instead, 3B Chris Nowak reached base safely on the play, and his league-leading double play count stood pat at 15. RHP Wade Davis pitched seven shutout innings for the Biscuits to rebound from his poor start last Saturday.

AAA Durham Bulls (35-33)

Rochester 1, BULLS 0-The Red Wings scored once in the bottom of the sixth, and the Durham lineup could manage just two hits as they went down in defeat, 1-0.  The game was delayed almost two hours due to rain in the fifth inning, and both starters saw their outings truncated as a result. The Bulls won just one of the four games they played in Rochester this week, and look to correct their losing road trip with a four game series in Buffalo against the Bisons starting tonight.

A+ Vero Beach Devil Rays (32-34)

FSL All-Star Game Today-The All-Star Break continues today for the Florida State League, although for the league-high six Vero Beach players participating in the All-Star Game, today doesn't represent a "break". The FSL All-Star Game is indeed set to take place at 7:15pm (or 7:30pm, depending on who you believe) this evening in Brevard County. Seven V-Rays players were selected as All-Stars, but RHP Ryan Reid has moved on to better places and will thus not play today. Here are the six set to be in Viera for tonight's game:

• RHP Heath Rollins
• LHP Ryan Morse
• 3B Cesar Suarez
• OF Garrett Groce
• DH J.T. Hall

Hellickson was originally a candidate to start today's game, but he developed a blister on his pitching hand in his last start on June 5th, and thus will not play at all. Hall will be the lone Devil Ray to participate in the Home Run Derby prior to the game.

The All-Star Break isn't just about celebrating the accomplishments of the league's best, however, it is also a couple of off-days for each team to evaluate their performance over the first half. An interesting piece in today's Vero Beach Press Journal offers some insight into what that evaluation will be like for the Devil Rays. Manager Jim Morrison says the team has not played to expectations this year, and that the culprit is a lineup that hasn't adjusted to the higher competition level of the FSL. For the second straight year, Vero Beach finds itself with a very strong collection of pitchers...and a starting lineup that just can't find a way to cross the plate. Morrison said that he expects the talent level of the team to translate into better second half results, given that the majority of the roster played on the SAL-champion Columbus Catfish last year.

Also well worth checking out is the Press Journal's mini-profile of V-Rays IF Matt Fields. In the article, Fields lends credence to Morrison's theory about players having a hard time adjusting to the FSL, saying he experienced it himself. He says that he is working on being patient and making that adjustment right now. Fields, who has played in all but two games this year, has exhibited a bit of pop in his bat in the past that he hopes will come out conspicuously in the second half.

A- Columbus Catfish (26-42)

CATFISH 7, Rome 6-The Catfish rallied from a 5-1 deficit as they scored six combined in the seventh and eighth innings to beat the Rome Braves on a soggy day at Golden Park. The game's start time was delayed one hour and forty-nine minutes due to rain, and Columbus starter Jeremy Hall never seemed to recover, surrendering five runs in three innings before being pulled. The Catfish clawed back, however, and LF Reid Fronk's three-run eighth inning homer put them ahead for good.
