"For the First Time"
When will the words "for the first time" and "in franchise history" not be neccessary any more?
This phenomena leads things to happen like a sudden influx of children named 'Carl', 'Gabe' and 'Evan' in the Spring of 2009.
It causes people to do things like make slogans like "Summer 2008: "Year of the first time in Franchise History!" with a Ray's logo - not so coincidentally, from 2005 -on it...
Yeah... Go Devil Rays...
Perhaps when we weren't all paying attention to the flow of the tide ignorance became fashionable. Perhaps the people who need to sum up their perception skills with "for the first time in franchise history" need to insert a Y2K joke in there as well.
Now, go back and read this again but this time with Oscar the Grouch's voice instead of your own inner voice.

I enjoy coming home from a game
Once every week or two, claiming it to be the “Greatest win in franchise history”, and being able to do so with a straight face every time.

I think I have done this about 10-11 times already this year. It doesn’t really get old to me.

And the Yankees still haven't won a World Series in this Millenium.
A Millenium starts at Year 1.
Next one is 100 years later… 1001. And so on. 2001
Does it mean it’s awesome that the Yankees suck? Of course it does! Do we gotta repeat it as often as possible ad nauseum?? The Yankees suck more than ever for the most consecutive days ever….
People who don’t know need to what’s happening MORE than the fact of it’s triviality.
If you're not having fun, what are you having? There's already WAAAY too many serious moments in life.
