Cito Gaston is back!
John Gibbons has been fired and replaced by Gaston. This is a great move by the Blue Jays. He really deserved a shot to manage again. For reasons unpublished by the media, he has been essentially blackballed from the big leagues for almost 11 years. Toronto is a talented team and should benefit from this move.
These fanshots are silly, and no on is probably going to read this because they have to scroll so far down the page but whatever. I'll keep Patrick happy and post this here.
By the way, JP Ricciardi should be fired too.

I'm really not sure why Gaston was never hired as a manager elsewhere
But Ricciardi’s time is coming soon I’d imagine.

Thank you Tyler
You are right, Gibbons needed to go. He was a non-factor at best and a confrontational jerk at worst. I’m sort of glad to see Gaston get a job; that’s a blast from the past. I’m not sure why he never got the chance to manage again after the success he had with the Jays last decade. I know he was Toronto’s hitting coach under Buck Martinez at the start of the decade, and that he interviewed for the White Sox managerial position after Jerry Manuel was fired, but to go a decade without a managerial job given the success he had is sort of incredible.
