Report from McGee's Start (Biscuits) on Sunday
McGee was up in the zone quite a bit. In the first inning he surrendered a homer and a double. His curve ball has very little break and is more effective because of the speed (low 70’s) than the motion. He also leaves that pitch up. The highest he hit all day was 94. For the Fish, Maybin showed his athletic ability legging out an infield single then drawing a wild pickoff throw. He also took a McGee offering completely out of the park. Decent game overall.

That's been mentioned as a possibility
But whenever you have someone of McGee’s talents, you want to exhaust every chance for him to start before relegating him to fewer innings.

I have always seen McGee as a Joba-type of player
A great fastball and nothing else. Any other team would make McGee a set-up guy.

Joba has a lot else
He has three/four plus pitches. His fastball is definitely plus, his slider is plus, his curve is fringe plus, and his changeup is fringe plus too. He defs has more than a fastball.

Thanks for the report
Keep them coming.
You’ll have a lot of pitcher prospects to report on for the next 2 seasons at least.
