Carolina Pitcher Matt Yourkin was ejected from the game in the seventh inning along with Mudcats Pitching Coach Scott Mitchell after Sergio Pedroza was hit by a pitch for the second time in the game. Yourkin is no stranger to these types of incidents, having knocked out Rhyne Hughes' front teeth with a pitch last season.
